Morningside House of Friendship

I have always had good interactions with the management. Thankfully, I haven't had to have many interactions. Anytime I have had a questions they were very responsive. I do think they do a lot of things with the residents. I am very pleased with that. The activities staff does a lot of hands on activities…little crafty things. The residents seem to enjoy that. Every time I am there it is very clean. In regards to maintenance, I think they are wonderful. When we moved in there were a couple of things that needed to be done to her room right away and he did it. She got a hospital bed last year and I was on my way up to assemble it and they said maintenance took care of it. The building looks good; never an issue. Every time I have been there the care staff has been wonderful. There have been times that we have been visiting and they have come by to help her use the restroom. They are great. They are really kind and on top of it. I am very happy with that.

The price here seems very reasonable to me for the services they provide. Management seems to be on top of things and take good care of things around there. I live in San Francisco so anytime there is an issue with her they call me to keep me informed. I like the way they handle things. I have always been impressed with the food. I have seen the menus and they always look good and I have eaten there a couple times myself. They always pick her laundry up on Sunday and it is back by Tuesday. I like how they do each room separately. They don't mix them. The building and her room always seem to be well maintained. The care staff is very respectful and treats her very well.

Management is always updating me with anything. My aunt's room is always kept clean, her bed is always made, she's always in clean clothes, and her hair is always brushed, so I like that. The activities and housekeeping are good, they just remodeled and it's very pretty there. The caregivers talk with her and they call her grandma. She laughs, she smiles, and she always says how sweet they all are. They are just really good to my aunt, if she needs or wants something, they do it.

I am very happy with the community. The food always looks and smells good and my father sure eats it up. The activities director keeps them busy will all different type of activities and outings. The housekeeping and maintenance departments do a great job of keeping things working and clean. The ladies are all good about redirecting him when he gets upset. They do a good a job of picking people that show kindness and love to the residents of the community.

My parents are at Morningside, and I think the caregivers are lovely, no complaints. They always call me if they need to, and I feel they're pretty good. When my husband emails management, any issue gets taken care of. I think housekeeping makes sure their place is always clean, and Jim in maintenance is pretty good. If we need something, it might take a day or two, which we understand, but he takes care of things. I think the activities are wonderful, and the transportation is very good, very accommodating with my parents. I think it's pretty easy for my parents to get around, and their apartment is fine. I feel that they are safe and comfortable there, and I think they do too. We looked at several places, narrowed it down to Morningside and another, and they were comparable. It is high, but it is what it is, when your parents need care, you do what you have to do.

We had a positive experience at Morningside House of Friendship and we're satisfied with the services and accommodations provided to my mother. Whenever I interacted with management, it was always a favorable experience. Regarding dining, she liked meat and potatoes so she got that a lot and the wait staff did the best they could. Maintenance were responsive and would come up to put things on the wall for her, the housekeeping was fine and the activities seemed great for the residents. In terms of her care, the staff was knowledgeable and responsive to her needs so overall, it's a great place.

Anytime I have had to contact management about anything, they have been very responsive to what I am calling about. It is taken care of or they answer my question. I really appreciate that when I call, they are there, they listen and they respond. My mother likes the food and she is a picky eater. The meals I have had with her were all good. It does not taste like institutional food. There are a lot of activities offered at this community. She participates in the ones she can. They go on outings twice a week. I am amazed with housekeeping. They come and get the laundry and it comes back neat and tidy. They put hers away for her because they know with her Parkinson's she cannot do that for herself. They have never lost anything which is amazing. They keep her room neat and tidy. Maintenance has been very responsive and have taken care of things as quickly as humanly possible. Everything is so wonderful outside. Everything is gorgeous. It does not look or smell like an assisted living. The nurses and the aides are always responsive to my mom and she loves all of them. She jokes and laughs with them. They have been wonderful to her. My mother loves to get out and she loves to sit in the gazeebo out front. She likes to watch the feral cats and the cars. The aides have her outside once or twice a day when it is nice. My mother was in rehab a few years ago and when she found out she got to come back to this community, she said "oh I am going home."

My mom has been there since March of '18, and I would recommend it, absolutely I would. I have friends with parents struggling Alzheimer's and Dementia and I have recommended it to them. I think they do a good job in the Memory Care activities, and we're very happy with the housekeeping and the laundry they do. The building is clean inside and outside. Mom is comfortable, I feel she is safe, and for this particular type of care and the people who work and provide services, it's a good value.

The care staff is really good with my mom. She likes everyone that works there and they're very approachable and helpful. Maintenance is good with helping out if we have any repairs and maintenance keeps the building looking great. The housekeeping and laundry are good services and the dining is good as well. Management is really nice to all of the people there. Overall, it's good in terms of value for the services receievd.

My experience with my mother living here has been good so far. The staff are open to any suggestions that I have for them. The place is always clean with I go to visit mom. Overall, I think it is a fair price compared to what others charge.
