Morningside House of Laurel

The food is fantastic and it always looks good and smells good. They actually got her moving around in activities and it was amazing. They were tossing balls, and balloons. Also, everytime I've been there they've cleaned her room and done her laundry. They don't neglect it, and they make sure she gets and takes her medication.

For the value, I have to believe that I get a lot for my mother. The healthcare staff talk to her and then they talk to me, which is how we keep the perfect circle going. The building looks clean and before the housekeeper starts her work, she asks my mother how she is doing and gives her a hug before proceeding. They did activities on a rotating basis so that the folks could get out of their rooms and prior to COVID, they always had something going on, whether it was gaming or some kind of entertainment. The food choices, the menu and the encouragement for the residents to eat is all very good. Management is responsive and out & about doing things. They've done great with the quarantine. Chantelle responds to emails if you have a question and she just makes it an easy on the family. Now that we can't go to visit, she's the one that comes to the door and picks up our supplies, making sure the residents get it right then. She always has a smile and is always at the ready to make things better for both, the families and the residents. All in all, I would recommend it to others. The things that are good for my mother would probably be good for someone else.

One reason we chose the community for my mother was because it had the best vibe with happy residents and friendly staff. There haven't been any maintenance issues and the building looks satisfactory. The food tastes good and they have a well balanced variety on the menu. She has attended a church service, the price is in line with everyone else and I am satisfied with the accommodations provided to her. She feels safe and comfortable there.

It's a really nice community that always seems to be clean, which is important. Their person in laundry services stays on top of things. They have a very nice activity director that tries to get my mom involved, and they have a lot pf activities going on constantly. The dining service is very prompt with putting out the resident's meals and the food seem to be balanced. There is a variety offered, and if they don't like what they're getting, they can get alternatives. She feels safe and comfortabl,e and they pretty much have control over the front door. Overall, everybody over there is super nice and they seem super caring, which makes a difference. Of all the places we looked, we thought this was the best place.

I think the care is good. They know that she needs assistance. I can put my head down at night and know that she's cared for. The transportation service takes her to eye apppointments, and that's good too. I rely on that. I always seen the maintenance team working on something. I think the maintenance is very good. It's very nice. The laundry happens every week, which si good. The housekeeping is always on it. The activities team is always trying to include people I notice that all the residents looking forward to going to meals. It's a good dining experience. The servers are respectful. The service is very good. I think they do their best to please all the people. Everybody has bent over backwards. If I have a problem, I know who to call. I'm pleased with the management. My mom is happy there.

The value of his safety and knowing he isn't roaming the streets and getting lost, to me you can't put a price on. The value of his safety and 24 hour care is worth more than what I'm paying. I think the amount and quality of activities that they have is great and their activities director is exceptional. She is caring, friendly and remembers the names of all the family members of all the residents in the whole place. That is so impressive. The activities are phenomenal. When I come in to visit his bed is made and his floors are clean. The care he receives I am really happy with. That is why I've kept him here all these years.

The management has been pretty responsive. In regards to the dining, there appears to be enough variety on the menu. My mom eats in the dining hall and will get meals delivered to her if she needs to. They are really good about that. They have been really good with the transportation, and we have always been able to get transportation when we request it. The care givers are pretty much accessible and respectful. Overall, it is a great place.

All of the ladies were wonderful there. Jeanetta was wonderful, Cecilia was wonderful, and Denise was great. They gave me cookies when I came there, and when we arrived there on the 13th, they had lunch for us in the main dining room. They do homecooking. It is very lovely. You sat at a table with other residents. They don't want you sitting in your room. They make you feel very accepted. I saw the activities calendar, and they have bingo, and they make cookies on some days and smoothies on some days. The activities are very well thought out. They do all kinds of outings for the people. The housekeeping was nice. The girl that did the laundry was wonderful. They were always cleaning the individual rooms. It is very well maintained for the residents. The memory care area was very nice. They are always vary good people and they are very hospitable and welcoming, like a family member. These people are very kind. They are like a family community. Everyone hugs each other.

My brother will be there two years as of September, and he’s very happy there. The care staff is amazing, and they take very good care of him. If he falls, they let me know within half an hour. They're always on top of his medications, and I never have a problem finding one or reaching them on the phone. His apartment is more than adequate, and housekeeping does a good job. The servers accommodate him, and he says the food is good. The top managers are always good and responsive. The value is excellent.

My aunt is safe and comfortable there. Regarding management, they're pretty responsive to any requests or concerns the family has. They do a good job keeping them involved in activities. Overall I am pleased and the value is pretty good.
