Morningside House of Laurel

They have quite a bit of activities and entertainment coming in at Morningside House of Laurel, so I think it's very nice. I think our concierge is some of the best people we've ever had here and I have been here 9 years. They're willing to do anything to help anyone and they go out of their way to do anything you'd ask them to do, all of them. The food is really good and if there is anything that people want or anything that the people need that the kitchen doesn't have, the Head of Dining will go out of her way to take care of the residents. The activities are pretty good compared to some of the homes, we go to Wal-Mart and go on scenic drives, so I'd say they're great and the Activity Director is very good with the other residents. My apartment cleaning is very good and the lady in laundry is very good, she brings your clothes back folded very nicely, so all you have to do is put it away. I think that maintenance tries and does a good job, so I am satisfied with all the services provided to me, including transportation. We have a lady here and if you go to a Doctor's appointment, she will make sure you get to the Doctor's office alright and walks you in. She takes very, very good care of you and she is one of the best drivers we'd have since I have been here. With regard to care, there has been a wonderful lady for the past 2 years. I believe she does everything and I know if someone is sick, then she is here in the middle of the night, so I'd say she is a very dedicated lady. Overall, I am happy at the community and I have recommended it very highly to quite a few people.

Despite a few issues, I think almost every aspect of the community here is amazing. My dad looks really well nourished; I think they are doing a good job and I think dad is happy with the food he gets. The activities director is fantastic. Apparently the director has won a bunch of awards with the state for her performance and for her level of care she has with the patients. That is one of the things that I liked about the community. Housekeeping is consistent which is great. They do their job to the best of their abilities. They just renovated the building and it looks nice. The transportation service is fantastic. I think the care he gets here is excellent.

I think the value at Morningside House of Laurel is reasonable and her apartment is great. She enjoys the food in the dining room, the Activities Director does a good job and everybody is very friendly, so it's been a good experience so far. The maintenance man is excellent and my mother loves him because he says that whatever she asks, they'll take care of it right away, even doing some extra stuff for her. The Nurses are personable, knowledgeable and accessible, so my mom likes them. Overall, we're satisfied with the services and accommodations provided to her, so we feel that she is comfortable at the community.

According to mom the food here is very good. I believe there is a good variety offered and she is happy with the quality. I know they have quite a lot of activities being offered to the residents. Mom’s apartment is being maintained well. When we moved mom in it looked as if the building was kept up well. She uses the transportation occasionally for a doctor appointment or on an activity outing and has seemed to enjoy it.

My husband and I were able to sleep at night which we hadn't been able to do for a couple months before my mother in law moved in. If she acted out at night, this community would call us the next day to let us know but they would handle it on their own. They didn't make us panic. It was an amazing value to have a peace of mind. We were very happy with her room. Management was wonderful and thorough. They wanted to know why she was in the condition she was in so they were prepared for her when she came. They were integral to her getting better. The building was spotless and the transportation was good. The caregivers were very respectful, patient and accessible. They were able to get her to take her medicine. Everything and everyone was perfect.

All the staff is very kind and efficient. They have all treated my mom with respect. My mom looks forward to going to breakfast, lunch and dinner. I like the idea that if the resident doesn’t like what they are having they can have an alternate like a sandwich or salad. The activities staff tries and make sure everyone is having a good time when they do an activity. They put a lot of effort into it. My mom’s apartment is always nice, neat and clean. Mom broke her ankle there and they took care of all that and the therapy getting her back to walking. Everybody did their job and it made the family happy to see that mom is being taken care of.

Since my sister moved in over six years ago I am happy with her apartment and I think it is a good spot for her. Overall, I think she is quite happy. She says that the aides are very nice and she likes them. She really appreciates the activities that are offered. Denise, the Activities Director, is an amazing woman. She does a great job in getting people involved and is just so pleasant all the time. We are also pleased with the services she receives from the dining and maintenance departments as well.

The dining department is extrememly accommodating to mom and her special dietary needs. The care staff comes in and checks on her to make sure she is okay and to give her the medication she needs. I am overall very pleased with the community. I really like the people, the place, the activities, everything.

My mother has lived here for six years and I feel tt is one of the best places in the county for her to be. She is pleased with the food and enjoys the outings they take on the bus to various shopping locations. She uses the transportation service for doctor appoitments and they are very accommodating with last minute requests. I am pleased with the service she receives from the housekeeping and maintenance departments. I think the building is beautiful.

What I appreciated the most was when moms level of care changed they whole staff reacted accordingly. The activities were fun and entertaining and I even participated in a lot of them myself. The building was always nice and pleasant. I loved the flowers. We would often go on walks on Sunday afternoons. There was new furniture out front and we enjoyed sitting out there in the late spring and summer. Comparitive to others that I have talked to I felt like I got the deal of a lifetime here at Morningside and I am so grateful to them.
