Morningside House of Laurel

My mother moved into this community in July 2017. The price is reasonable and Jeanetta has been responsive and attentive whenever I have reached out. The dining manager is outstanding. She will respond to any request you have. My mother thinks the food is good. The laundry, housekeeping and maintenance is fine. The building was just newly renovated. For everything, I think the price is reasonable.

The community does a great job with the food. There is a wide variety of activities and the staff do a good job of trying to get the residents involved in them. The housekeeping and maintenance have been good. The care is pretty good as well. My mom's been there for two years and overall we have been satisfied.

My aunt loves it there and feels safe and comfortable. I feel like the management team works pretty well with the residents. I feel like the community is run well. My aunt seems to enjoy the food adn there is plenty of it. She likes the service and thinks they are very attentive. My aunt is very happy with the maintenance. They have come in and hung drapes for her. The care is excellent. Overall I am happy with the community and she really loves it there. Everybody has been very kind and they keep a close eye on the residents.

I moved my mother into this community over two and a half years ago. I think the value is very good and the new director is very open to making sure things get done. She definitely follows through on what she says will get done. Also, from my dealings with the head of the health area are good, she seems to also be doing a good job. I would say we are satisfied.

I like the activities they have, there's definitely a good variety. They have a lot of different things for different people. Maintenance has taken care of any issues. They just did a bunch of renovations, so the community looks really nice. My mother uses the transportation for doctor's appointments and it works out fine. It's good, very helpful. They're very good with her. She's fine with the food. I've eaten with her once or twice and it's been good. I feel she is checked on regularly, which is good. I feel she's in good hands with the care staff. Overall, I would definitely recommend the community.

I think the management team is very good. They have much improved in the last year. They have been very responsive in things I've asked them. Things run smoothly and they take care of my mom. The transportation has been very good when we use it to go to doctor appointments every few months. The caretakers all seem to care for the people they help. Anytime I have a concern I go straight to the staff and they are very responsive to that. Overall, I think the value is pretty good.

They're very kind and attentive, and they know all of their residents by name. I think they all truly care about the people there.They have a lot of activities for the residents.

I met with the Executive Director, Nurse Cecilia and Ms. Linette from activities, so the fact that they took the time out of their day to us meant a lot and they communicated well with us. They really try to get the residents involved in all of the activities. I am there often and I see families with residents down at the Jazz, so they're always so excited. The problems we had, maintenance fixed immediately. The care staff is wonderful, kind and understanding. When she first got there, she thought they were trying to poison her, but they were very patient and the Nurse was very kind in trying different ways. The Nursing staff is absolutely wonderful and we accredit that to her getitng better so far.

The entire memory care unit itself is very clean every time. I've gone there and they recently upgraded the furniture and carpet. My mother is definitely safe and comfortable. I think the management team is great. For example: I had a situation and they communicated with me a lot about it and I appreciated that. The food is decent, not just a bunch of mush and stuff. They have a snack for the residents so that's always nice. I've been to several events for the families and I thought everything was nice and timely. I thought that was very, very nice and they're always sending me information about activities.

I have to say it's a good value. It's expensive, but for this region it is fair. I think the activities are good. The housekeepers are always doing well in her room. I think the building is great, it's in good shape. It's a good facility.
