Morningside House of Laurel

The management team is doing a lot well. It's amazing. There's always room for improvement even with the best of the best. If you say you want something, the caretakers are responsive and get it taken care of. The activities are very inclusive. If someone likes a particular activity they do a good job of coming to get them and they have signs around to keep everyone updated, so that's pretty good. I think the price is fair for what is being received.

We are not in the least bit unhappy about the accommodations. Management does follow through on most everything they can. They are pretty good about communicating with us. We know that my mother-in-law is getting really good care. When they see a problem that might be coming up the team gets together and suggests solutions. They monitor her. They are responsive. We know that we are paying a little extra but what we get in return is a piece of mind. They do her laundry and they are very good about making sure her laundry is folded and putting them on her bed. She likes to put her own laundry away. The Activities Department staff is real good about making sure they come around and encourage them to participate in activities. We would definitely recommend it.

We are glad they were able to fit us in. We are just very happy. The first night she fell off her bed, they took her to emergency and back, followed through and check on her regularly so we feel real good. Our companion that we have for her doesn't have to stay with her overnight because the care is so good. They are so cheerful and attentive. When we moved into the space everything was set up and well painted. It looks very nice and clean. The floors were not carpeted; they are a vinyl wood type which is very cleanable. There's no dust and her breathing is better as a result. The value is excellent. We were in a hurry to find a place. The management team communicated quickly, was helpful, and worked with us on the cost. We moved my mother in within two weeks of talking to them. The whole environment is very residential so I'd give it a high grade.

I think that management has done a very good job listening to us and working with us as of recent so I feel like our voice is heard. I think they put in a lot of effort there. We had brunch there on Mother's Day and it was very good. All in all I'd say it's good. There have been a lot of improvements over the course of her three years staying there and I think it has been really beneficial.

Management is very kind and my father likes the food. Maintenance is good. His area is clean and maintained. The lady in charge of activities really does a good job. The residents that participate seem to really enjoy the Bingo and different games they play. The healthcare has some of my favorite staff. My father loves his room and we have already recommended the place.

It is a very attractive building. It is in very good shape outside. The inside is also very attractive especially the common area downstairs. The overall appearance of the community is excellent. I think the nurses are very good and the care by the people is very good. They are very responsive. The staff is extremely friendly and tries to be helpful.

The outside always looks nice. There are always new flowers and they keep the lawns up and everything. Inside too, they've just redone the whole place, so everything is really new. My friend as been there for the last 18 years so I would say she is satisfied.

This is her fourth time coming here. My mom likes it here and they take good care of her. Dining service is excellent! They have good food. They do an excellent job serving. It's like a restaurant. The activities are good. They keep my mother busy. She needs to be busy because it keeps the old people living long. The housekeeping has been good and maintenance has fixed some things for my mom. It looks like a hotel in there. I'd say everything is pretty good.

I've looked around at other Assisted Living facilities in my area, and Morningside is probably the best bargain there is. The service ladies in the dining room are great. They are very polite and very attentive. My dad loves the Sunday morning services. He actually sings along with the hymns because he knows a lot of them. He is particularly fond of dancing, so on Friday or Saturday evening when they have bands come and play, he likes to do that. My dad is a popular character in the facility because he is one of three or four males, so his dance card is full. On Easter they had a photographer come in, and I hadn't had my picture taken with my dad in a long time, so that was nice. Every time I go there his room is clean and the common areas are always clean. I know within the past six months, they put new shingles on the roof, asphalted the parking lot, and I think they did painting and new carpeting inside. It looks nice, and they are definitely spending money on upkeep. The healthcare staff is all very conscientious - very polite. They do their job pretty well as far as I can see. Whenever I call, if the person who answers the phone doesn't know the answer, they'll find someone who does. If my dad's being non-compliant with taking his meds, they'll let me know and I'll go have a talk with him. His health and wellbeing is their major concern, as it should be, and they do well.

I'm glad we found this facility. My mother really likes it. She says every day how much she likes living there. My mother seems to like the dining. The service is great. They're very responsive and assisting the residents and a young man who works there always has something nice to say to them. There's always something going on and they do some trips to the local stores. They have a really nice outdoor patio that would be nice for summer barbecues. They try to get folks engaged. The building appears to be in great shape. They're always remodeling on the common areas and it looks great. It's always very comfortable. I have actually recommended it. Everybody has nothing but positive things to say about it.
