Morningside House of Satyr Hill

The staff are really nice and attentive. Mike, the maintenance man, is there all the time and he seems to oversee things. He keeps up with everything. They helped him install his TV on the wall when he switched rooms. They were really prompt and helpful with that. Dwight in housekeeping, is outstanding. He is very good. They are lucky and they have some really good people in place here. I usually take him to his appointments but it has worked out a few times where they brought my uncle to the doctor and then I met him there. That has really helped me out. It is really great having that service available for appointments.

The outside of the building is immaculate, you come into the lobby and it's great. One of the main reasons we chose Morningside was because of the layout that was there and how large it was, other ones were much smaller, we didn't want a crammed room.

Morningside House has kept my wife safe for two years. The aides keep her clean, they do a fantastic job. Maintenance is pretty good and they always have an activity going on and some of the people seem very involved. The dining room menu looks fine and varied.

The management staff were very attentive and concerned about our concerns. They explained how the process worked and were very thorough. I like the fact that there are a number of different activities offered on a daily basis; Dad has already participated in and enjoyed. He isn't the type of person to just go out and socialize and get involved. It was immediate that he got involved. Mainly because the residents were so nice and encouraging to him.

My loved one has been at Morningside House of Satyr Hill since 2010, so I am satisfied with the price, services and accommodations have been provided. The healthcare staff is excellent because they're respectful, knowledgeable and accessible towards his needs. The community is always clean, you don't smell urine anywhere and while he only needed help once or twice with the television, the maintenance staff would always come and fix it. In regards to housekeeping and cleanliness, it's been good. The young man is very good and if I ask him to do something, he does it. In terms of activities, they have Bingo, however he is beyond that now and enjoys the music or the games in the living room. Regarding the dining experience, he loves the food, the 3 hot meals a day and the service is good. As for management, they're respectful, knowledgeable and a majority of the time when I have an issue or question, they're there to answer. Also, the lady who works the concierge during the day is excellent because if you tell her your concern, you know it'll be taken care of. I haven't met the new Director, but the woman in finances is very, very nice. If she doesn't know the answer to something, she makes sure to get back to you and let you know, so it's been a great experience overall. He is very happy, always in a good mood and pleased at the community, so I am comfortable with him there.

I think my sister feels safe at this community. There have been times when she has requested a sandwich rather than the meal and the staff help her with that. The activities seem to be good. I have been there when they had someone come in to play instruments or sing. There is a dog that comes in and does tricks. They seem to have something going on most days. This community looks pretty good. The building is maintained pretty well on the inside and the outside.

I wish we didn't have to go, we really appreciate all the time there. The laundry and maintenance services are great. I think the healthcare staff is very responsive, good at getting back to us, my family, and getting other family members if I don't answer, they're kind and caring.

I would say the housekeeping is pretty decent. It is a difficult job but they keep the place at neat and tidy as possible. If things are broken or soiled, maintenance gets them fixed or replaced quickly. The individual staff for care are very good. It is a difficult situation. They are patient. They know the individual residents and seem to treat my parents nicely as people not just as residents.

My loved one visited three places and called me and said she really thought Morningside was the place for her, she liked the activities and we agreed it would be a good place. We didn't have a long wait, they told us exactly what papers we needed, and it just went very smoothly. She goes in the puzzle room, they have an art class every Wednesday and she really loves that. There always seems to be something that somebody is interested in doing. It looks very nice on the outside, I don't see any chipped paint, the carpets are clean, her apartment is clean. I think for the money we're paying, it's an excellent return. Every time we're there, we're very pleased.

The older gentleman on the second floor that does the housekeeping is fantastic. I appreciate his smile, his friendliness, his helpfulness because these are things that are not even in his realm but he always puts on a smile. My dad really enjoys when people come in to sing. He'll talk about that for weeks after they’ve been there. My dad had a couple of problems and maintenance came in right away to fix the issues. The landscaping is great and it's a great presence to come into.
