Morningside House of St. Charles

When I chose this community for my husband I liked the idea of him having an individual room rather than a shared room. With his care needs, they accepted him more readily than other communities would. The food has flavor and it was nice and hot when it came out. I know there's a lot of activities there that's offered and he has gone to church service a couple times now. Inside and outside, the building is very clean. As for the care staff, he loves these women. He's always chatting it up with somebody, and in return they do the same thing. That makes his day. He's happy there, which is great!

The community looked really nice, the ratings were okay, and it's close to where I live. The community looks very nice, very well-kept. The dining staff is excellent. My mom is a picky eater, but hasn’t mentioned anything. They're hearty meals. The caregivers are very nice, responsive, and attentive. They pay attention to detail. I haven’t come across anyone that wasn’t responsive or had a bad attitude. Everyone is friendly and responsive. Miss Christa, the marketing person, and the front desk receptionists are all very nice. The Head Nurse is really responsive. I think her name is Tasha. The Marketer and Executive Director went above and beyond to accommodate me. They came in on a Sunday, they were great.

They've just redone everything, it's been newly painted on every floor with new carpet and furniture, and everything has been changed out and redone. They're always doing something when I'm there, my mom seems to always be involved and they have a nice calendar. There's a variety, they just hired a new activities director and she's even nicer than the one before. She's upbeat and outgoing. It's excellent. There are very nutritious meals so my mom's happy. Everything looks like it's prepared well and it's good food. Overall, I'm happy she's here; it's been a good place so far.

The price is fair for what is being received. We like the design, my dad's up on the fourth floor. We talked to the head nurse and she is very helpful. We've been very happy with the nursing staff. We had a video conference with his doctor; we used the staff's computer, which was very kind. The housekeeping staff is very good. She's very friendly and knows you by name. It's not an easy job and I think she doesn't it really well. I think the management staff are accessible and communicate with us. They are responsive when we have questions. It has been a good experience so far.

The management staff has been very good. They let me know when there are any issues with my mom. When I look at the menu and see what they're serving, it seems like a well-balanced meal to me. My mom's not involved in a lot of the activities but I see a lot of the other residents engaging in them and they seem to be having fun. I am very pleased with the care staff. They're very helpful with getting her meds to her. I would highly recommend the community.

The nurses are wonderful. They are very sweet and they are patient with my mom. I can tell they really care about her. My mom is always busy. She partakes in everything they offer and she never lacks things to do. She raves about the food! They do a "breakfast for dinner" one night and they have a candle light dinner that she really likes. From what I've heard my mom is really happy with the transition.

I think the management team is good, they are always responsive. I have recommended it. The facility is clean and well kept up and care services seem to be fine.

The community had everything that met our criteria. I liked everybody there. I have dealt with multiple people and the management was great. My mom liked the food. She enjoyed that on certain days she could have fish and she had alternatives with soups of the day. The activities were cool and they'd invite music over. My mother loved the bingo and they always had something going on to keep them busy and engaged. Every time I went in there, it was clean. They would also do her laundry with no problems. Everything on the inside was beautiful and everything was remodeled recently. Healthcare did everything and was excellent.

It's a very nice community, and the services that they offer are pretty good. As far as I know, when I come in, the people there are always doing something. I don’t involve myself because she doesn't. The staff on my mother's level, they keep me up to date in terms of what's going on with my mom. I come in frequently and know all the staff. In terms of management working it with me, they were very accommodating.

It is very expensive, but compared to what it could have cost it is okay. I have been very pleased. The dining staff is very polite. The food quality is good. There is a variety. Sometimes my mother needs clothing washed on days that are not her days and the housekeepers do it when it needs to be done. They keep the facility very clean. The entryway and outside are very clean. They just redid the parking lot. All the workers are very pleasant and talk to her by name. They always smile and never act like they are in a bad mood. Any time I have a concern, I voice them right away to management. Results happen right away after I voice concerns, so I am happy.
