North Shore Place

Mom has been there for over two years. I think the community is clean and well-maintained. Maintenance made her shower more handicap accessible. Mom uses the transportation to get to her doctor. It seems to be fairly easy to schedule. The nursing staff has been veer responsive and proactive in discussing issues with me.

In the past year mom has lived there, the management has been excellent. I just think they do a beautiful job. Everyone seems comfortable, happy, and it's very clean, and the staff is all so friendly. I think the dining is also very good. The menu is varied, the food is tasty, the dining room is clean, and there is a lot of personal service from the wait staff. Housekeeping is also excellent. The girls are very good, they clean the apartment once a week, the bed is made daily, and the garbage is emptied as needed. Laundry is good; everything comes back clean, neat, and folded. I think the care is excellent. The nurses are attentive and they know my mother's needs. The aides are very good at making sure she is dressed properly and clean. The Med Techs make sure she gets her vitamins regularly. She had eye surgery and had to have drops and they made sure it was always done correctly. Anyone I talk to, I recommend it. I think it's a wonderful place and I am so grateful my mom is living there because I have a sense of security knowing she is safe and secure there. She loves it, she loves her apartment.

I love North Shore Place, that place is great. My mom has been safe there for two years, and comfortable. Front desk, administration, everybody is very friendly and very helpful. The caregivers are great, Jennifer and George are fantastic. Sheri, everybody is great. Maintenance is great. Mom had an issue once and they had it repaired in the hour. Dining is also great. The food there is very good, I've had it myself, and the service is always friendly and is quick as they can be. I think all the activities are good. It’s really expensive, but it's really good. It's absolutely worth the money. You get what you pay for.

We have never had any issues with my loved one there the past couple years. The community is run like a clock, the staff is outstanding, and I couldn’t be happier. The nursing staff there is so outstanding. The communication, responsiveness, professionalism, and the quality of care is better than excellent. The dining experience is outstanding, the quality of the food, the selection, and the service. They're willing to accommodate walkers, wheelchairs, any mode of transportation. Very good service, very consistent quality of food. From what I can tell there's great choices of available activities and they're handled very professionally. I would say housekeeping excellent. There were a few time where my loved one needed special attention and they've always been very responsive, professional, and courteous. I know the property is new and it seems to be very well maintained. I always see people cleaning and now with construction going on they have valet parking. Maintenance is very proactive; they don’t wait until there's a problem to address it. I already have recommended it, I'm their biggest fan. I don’t know what we would do with all of the siblings out of town. The peace of mind Northshore Place gives us…I don’t know what we do with her in another community. We looked at others before moving her in and we absolutely made the right choice. If I ever need to go into Assisted Living, I will move from Denver to Chicago just to be in Northshore Place.

I think it's been priced fairly in the two and a half years mom's been at North Shore Place. We are huge fans of Songs by Heart, it's great. Mom actually says she gets hoarse from singing so much. I can’t say enough, they're doing those five days a week, bringing in musicians. Music is the best therapy for Memory Care. There are movies, quizzes, and other activities that keep them busy. After brain surgery she couldn’t remember my name but she could remember the singer's name, the lyrics even, so it works. The nurses are really very thoughtful and careful. They call me if there's an issue, they know my name. I would say mom's happy, safe, and comfortable.

Dad's been there four years, all of them comfortable and safe. I think the dining menu is good and varied and the food quality is good. I think the wait staff does a pretty good job of anticipating what my dad wants, and they're friendly. Things tend to be pretty good, the dining room is clean and the food is pretty good. I like the activities, the movies are fine, and they have a nice movie theater. They have card groups; there are exercises and other activities. The Med techs do a good job of delivering his meds and when he travels they get his pills organized. The caregivers seem responsive. I see them on the floor; I think they do a good job. Dad uses the shuttle to go to church and choir practice occasionally. It's a nice vehicle and drivers are friendly. The building looks great, they keep it clean, it looks good inside and out. In general we're very pleased with the community. I think the people running it are good, the staff is nice; they're very welcoming and know everybody's name. The front desk staff is nice, we're very glad dad is there.

Based on the community and the caregivers it is a fair value. My mother-in-law says the food is good. She seems to be very content with it. There are activities every day and they try to get the residents involved. My mother-in-law came from a situation where she was sitting in a room in front of a TV and this keeps her mind much more active. The laundry has been fine and the building is well kept. It is a beautiful building. There was an outing yesterday so they called me to see what she would like to eat. It was great that they could take her even when she is in a wheelchair. The caregivers are caring, patient, kind and loving. They are wonderful to us.

Management at North Shore Place is very nice and will meet with you when you want to. My mom loves the food, the staffs are incredibly nice to her in there and the variety is a lot better than my kitchen, so I think dining services are great. The housekeeping looks decent and maintenance wise, the place looks clean and beautiful so I am satisfied with the accommodations provided to her. The community also has plentiful activities; I am satisfied with the consistency at which they're offered to residents.

I think the value at this community is excellent and everyone is very attentive to what is needed. For the most part the food is pretty darn good and they do try. This community offers so many activities. It is just fabulous. They just started something called the social butterfly club and that is a great idea. The residents form cliques and it is hard to break them apart. I think the social butterfly club will be fabulous if it works. It is pretty darn incredible when I see what is being done every day. The maintenance is excellent and the building is always immaculate. The caregivers are excellent and are there when you need them. They have good skills and are attentive to issues like blood tests. They are great.

I think the value is very good. If I had to put my aunt and mom in another facility I would look for something like Northshore place again.The food is good and my mom seems to enjoy it. I think they try and they know what the people need. The dining manager is fabulous. My mom goes down to the music programs every day and she loves it. The buidling is well kept. Frank the head of maintenance is the nicest person. He really bent over backwards to help us with things. Jennifer and George are exceptional care givers. They really stay on top of things and they call me. They work with Francine in Journey Care extremely well as a team. They treat everyone like it is their own mother or grandmother.
