The Quarry Senior Living

Rebecca, the Community Manager who gave us our tour, is excellent at follow-up, a good communicator and very professional. She has a heart for the residents and her assistants are also great at follow-up. Their holiday events are over the top excellent. There is good response with maintenance for the amount of residents there are. The community is just beautiful; they keep up with it really well.

We're happy with the size of her apartment. My mother loves the food. The portion sizes are perfect for her. She likes the variety. The young people who serve are very kind. Many of them kneel down and get at face level when speaking with her. Mother's birthday was last week and we had a party of 12-13. We ordered off the menu and they took care of us. It was over and above for my mom. They offer wonderful activities. There's a huge variety and they encourage her to go. They're washing windows this week. The caregivers are excellent. The people are friendly, the building is amazing, the opportunities are amazing, and there are various levels of care under one roof.

My husband and I live at the community and while we would like the price to be a little lower, we think it is fair. The food is usually very, very good. We have a very good housekeeper. She gets us all cleaned up every Thursday, and if we have anything extra that needs to have done she'll do it. Like if a window needs to be taken care of, she does it. She makes the bed excellently. Maintenance is very responsive when you have a problem. The guy is very pleasant and he drives nicely. The transportation staff works in to your schedule if they possibly can and they get my husband on and off the bus. The activity team is very good. We're happy.

There is not one person in management who has not been responsive to my emails, phone calls, follow up, etc. I know that I have access to any of the managers any time. That makes me feel good. The main dining hall and the little café is good. I like the set up because the little café is always open, so my mom can be on her own schedule and get food even if she doesn't make it to the dining room. The staff in the dining hall is just super. There are a lot of young kids and they are energetic and conversational. I talked to Patrick and he said that he can train anyone to do the job, but it's the personality that he looks for.
From the music to celebrating the new people who came in that month - the activities are super available to her. My mom walked down to report that they were out of laundry detergent and the maintenance man was up there and fixing it before she even got back. There haven't been many issues, but even when something happens in her apartment, everything is maintained very well. Transportation has been working out great for her. I know the drivers - we crack up about stuff and I know they are very respectful and helpful. I know it is probably tough to decide how the hours are going to work, but my mom has nothing to do and their time frames are more flexible than mine. I will say that when she has an appointment even when nobody else is going, if it's available they'll take her and pick her up. I know at the end of the day that they are working to be as accommodating as possible. I can sit here in my house at night and know that if my mom isn't feeling well or if she is feeling scared, she has people that she can reach out to. It helps me sleep at night. There's nothing that I would want them to improve. She's digging it. I recommend it all the time. I can't wait until I can move in.

I think the price is fair and that the value of The Quarry is way up there. We tried to get my mom in the first time and it was full. The Quarry is my top pick for senior living in the area. She used to be in another facility and The Quarry beat them hands down. They are up there in the way they take care of everybody. She is a little picky so it is hard, but they try to manage and work with her. They'll bend over backward for her, and the staff works very diligently. There are a lot of things to do, and she will occasionally catch some of the music stuff that is going on. The care services are very good. They have met every need and have really been good in their communication. They take good care of my mother - I have no complaints.

There are other facilities in the Vancouver area, but she says she loves The Quarry. She's ok living there for the next 5 years, it's really worth it. I truly believe that the Quarry excels in not only their management, but the care of their residents. The living conditions are exceptional and it really is a first class operation. The nursing staff is really perceptive and supportive to the resident's care plan. When there are any concerns such as blood sugar levels, they call and let me know right away.

The people here are absolutely top notch. The staff has been most helpful. They have a lot of activities here. They're very well planned out and they're excellent. The maintenance is pretty good. You tell them to do something and it's gotten a lot better over the years. The dining is excellent. That's the reason we picked this place in the first place. They do the job.

The cost was reasonable and in line with other facilities. Everybody was very helpful and very nice. The food and service were terrific. We liked the music. The lady who came to clean our apartment was there at the same time every week. She was quick and efficient. Anytime we had a problem the maintenance staff were always there in a timely manner and resolved the issue. The drivers were quick and efficient. They were able to transport me in my wheelchair easily. If anyone asked me, I would recommend this facility in a heartbeat because we truly enjoyed our time there. The staff is very nice and friendly.

I think the price is fair compared to the value. We looked around at some other ones before we chose this one. There were a lot of them that were similar but I wouldn't let my dog stay at them. The dining was great. They have really good food there. I like the variety that they provide and I like that they have the different restaurants to take the residents to in the community. I love the activity director Kelly, she is awesome. They do a great job with the cleaning; it's very clean and very well maintained. It is very homey. It looks like a hotel when you go in the main lobby. I love the caregivers and nurses, they are awesome. They never hesitate to call if they have a question or a concern. We are very thankful that they care. I would recommend it to anyone who needs that type of thing. I like that they have the variety from the assisted living to memory care, it fits everyone's needs.

It's a good atmosphere to come into, it really feels homey. They acknowledge what every resident needs, focus in on that, and have regular meetings with family. Maintenance does an awesome job; they helped my mom put an organizer in her walk-in closet. She was having falls stretching for the high shelf and they acquired what she needed to make sure she could reach anything. She and my cousin moved in when the facility first opened up, and I like the level of care she gets and everyone knows her there. The Quarry has been number one in Clark County the past few years.
