Sage Desert

We chose Sage Desert because we were recommended by someone coming out to look at my uncle. The staff was very accommodating on move-in and the residents themselves are really nice as well, so it's been a good experience for him thus far. Also, management checked in with me on move-in day to see if there was anything else we needed and while we did have some concerns, they were handled that day, with management touching in after the fact to say they were handled, so there was good follow through as well. The healthcare staff is very attentive, very patient and not hurried. They recognize the residents that they're dealing with and they just take it with stride. He has used transportation the Monday after he moved in, so it has worked without a hitch and still is. I will also add that the driver is very friendly and the vehicle is wonderful. Regarding housekeeping services, his room is clean, swept and kept very nice. He hasn't had a problem with laundry and when he asked someone about it, they showed him where to place it, only for it be placed back by his room in the morning, so he was amazed. They have minimalistic décor and it helps makes the community look clean. When we first moved in, the door was heavy for him to push with his walker, but management sent someone up to take care of it that day. The person actually did say they didn't understand it, which I appreciated, but they did say it'd be handled on Monday and it was handled on Monday. With activities at the community, he has been enjoying all of them. He said he had no interest and now he is never his room, so they're definitely doing exactly what they were supposed to do in getting him out and about. In terms of dining, the food seems fantastic and I love the meal tickets. I have bought him a bunch of the tickets and he has been inviting people over, so obviously the food is good, otherwise he wouldn't be doing that. The dining service is also very patient, they explained the walker valet and everyone seems to be in tune, so things are going very well right now. In fact, my uncle has already been giving tours almost every week.

Our mom loves all the food and is eating it. I have been there for a couple of activities and from what I saw I was very impressed with. There is always something going on. Chris has been awesome. The housekeeping looks like it is pretty good. We haven't had a problem with the laundry. The maintenance staff has been so courteous and ready to help us immediately when we have asked for help. The care givers that we have dealt with have been super awesome. We haven't been uncomfortable about talking to them about anything. Overall, we are happy and we consider it a real blessing to have her there.

If it wasn't for the care we get I would say it is pretty pricey. But, because of the care and skilled nursing I would say it is right on par. There isn't a person in that organization that isn't attentive. Chris, the director, is phenomenal. He is never hiding in a corner he is always out there. The food quality is great. The activities are great. They take them on outings, they do arts and crafts and the stuff they make is just great. The maintenance staff has hung pictures and artwork. They got the cable hooked up. They couldn't have been more accommodating. The care staff works as if they are getting paid four times what they are being paid. There isn't a person there that you would think is there for a job. Sometimes I come in and they don't see me and there may be a chance for them to not be on their game but they are always on their game. They are always accommodating, it doesn't matter if it is a Sunday or off day, not a prime Monday-Friday. They always have a smile on their face. It is great.

My loved one is thrilled with the food and there are a lot of activities. He's used the transportation service there once or twice and it's been readily available. His apartment always looks nice and clean and the caregivers are all very attentive. The cost is a little high but I'd say it's worth it.

I think the management staff runs a very well organized facility here. I am very impressed with Chris and his ability to make everybody work cohesively together. Dad likes the food here and the staff is great. Dad made a move from one apartment to another and the maintenance staff were very helpful with that. The community is new and very well designed. I have recommended it and there are two people here because of me.

My brother-in-law is in the Memory Care unit and they always have activities for him to do. I think he goes on outings. That's fine, the van is good and driver is friendly. Housekeeping and laundry are fine, we just haven’t had any issues, he is well taken care of. We're very happy with the community. I am very happy with management and the care givers, they've all been wonderful.

I chose this community for mom because we had someone help us who specializes in helping you find a place within your price range. We toured Sage Desert and just loved it. Everyone has been really great to work with, everyone from Vicki, the director, on down. The care staff have just been really, really great to mom. Super nice, super encouraging, very friendly, very gentle with my mom physically if they have to help her with anything. My mom thinks the people there are very nice and very kind to her, including the people that live there, they've all been incredibly kind to my mom. I know she's grateful for this place and so are we.

My wife and I moved in because they have Memory Care available here. The manager here, Chris, is the best I ever saw. It's a brand new apartment, maintenance is great. I've gone out with them on the bus and now I have a reservation to get to my doctor. They have the best driver here. The food is good and they have a monthly schedule with every activity on it. My wife and I are safe here.

(As Molly S.) - I’d heard through the grapevine that Sage Desert was really nice and people who moved in were really happy, so I checked it out and then moved in. I moved in quickly in one day. I moved in the night before my furniture came, and planned to sleep on the floor. The maintenance man brought in a box spring and mattress. That was amazing, he was fantastic and he works so hard. I am perfectly happy with the room and my friend came in to decorate, it's really nice, and the apartment was clean top to bottom when I moved in. It's the first real food I've eaten in I can’t even count the years. I met the chef, he couldn’t have been kinder or more interested in my likes, taking suggestions. Really nice man, I felt like I know him a year. There are so many variations in the activities. Being new I haven’t participated in that much but I have been invited to participate which is nice. The Activities Director asked if there was anything I liked, and I told her about my mom's noodle pudding. She called and told me they would have cooking class on how to make it, but that is on hold while I settle in. how about that? The care is excellent. Alexis the nurse who is here in the morning is wonderful, sweet, and kind. Ellen, the Wellness Director is kind, open, and welcoming. The time spent with me, the care, the interest in making sure I am finding my way around, the managers are going out of their way to help me.

I feel it is a fair value for the fact that it is a nice new facility and we can afford it. I am happy. Management has always been responsive to me when I have called. I have seen the calendar of activities and I know they always have things planned for Dad to do. I am very appreciative that the van guy has taken him personally to the drugstore when he needed to go. I will say the care staff are mostly on the ball as well.
