The Sheridan at Chesterfield

My mother really likes the food and she seems to love the activities. She loves the classical music, singers, and crafts they do. The building looks very beautiful and the facilities are nice. The care staff is very responsive and has been good about keeping us informed of her care.

My mom tells me the food is good. The community always looks nice and clean and maintenance takes good care of the building. The driver is amazing and wonderful and the nurses are all nice and kind.

I am very pleased, they are taking care of her needs. Management is responsive to calls and emails. The dining and activities are very good. I have no problems and I think very highly of them.

They have excellent activities. I go to the yoga classes, out on the drives that are scenic or to museums. I also go to plays when they have them, and the transportation is excellent.

My mother feels very safe and secure here. The caregivers are always there if we need them and if we have any questions they are there to answer our questions. They have a great menu variety and the activities are very good, there is always something for everybody to do and they encourage the residents to get involved. My mother's apartment is always clean, the laundry is done in a timely manner, anything we have ever needed by maintenance is taken care of right away and the building is excellent.

It was the dining area sold us on the place as did the scents because the community smells clean. In comparing to where she came from, it's a nice community with better service. The healthcare staff has really nice people, she loves the driver from transportation services and housekeeping wise, the place is kept clean. I think the food is really good and the service is both, friendly and helpful.

The staff here was just wonderful. They were very attentive and sweet. I loved Carmen, the director. Management was always very attentive to my dad and his needs. Anytime we had any questions, their doors were always open. The food was very good and they were good about making sure they served healthy food and snacks. Angela, the activities director, was wonderful and really good. Housekeeping made sure his room was clean. The building itself was beautiful and always smelled clean. It was a relief to have him in a safe environment with an educated staff. We knew he was okay and never had to worry about him.

Everyone on the staff has a nice mood and a good attitude and that means a lot. I think the activities are good. Mom is getting more into them each day. For the most part, they do a good job with the housekeeping and the common areas are always spotless. I like the cleanliness of the building. She is pretty independent but if she needs somebody from the care department they come right away.

We visited several communities and The Sheridan was far away the nicest, cleanest, and most cheerful place we could find for mom. I am satisfied with what activities I can tell they have going on. Management has been accessible to us and we’re satisfied with housekeeping so far. It's darn expensive, but it's the nicest place of the ones we looked at, and you get what you pay for. I have been really impressed with the professionalism of the Administrative staff, and the building is so nice. It's a difficult transition and I think overall they've done a good job helping us adjust.

We chose The Sheridan at Chesterfield for my mother because of location, reputation and their Memory Care specialized service. So far, I have seen a very consistent effort from management with keeping communication open and paperwork flowing, which is appreciated. I am satisfied with the quality of food, variety of menu and service during dining, so the dining experience is going well. With regards to activities, they have tours on Thursdays, music on Friday and daily activities, so the opportunities are there for the residents. In terms of cleanliness, we know the housekeeping staff is doing the laundry, so from that perspective things are fine. In regards to her care, I think the staff is very personable. When we first got there, they were a little touchy and since my mother lived alone for a long time, she wasn't used to the hugging, but I think she has been enjoying it. One of the employees also danced her down to the dining and I think she liked that too. What we've noticed with the care staff is that the people there really have their hearts in it. They see things as a personal mission and they're personally dedicated because while it's not the easiest environment to work in, they have the mental discipline to deal with older people, which was part of Sheridan's reputation when we looked. In terms of maintenance, the overall building is excellent. The place is beautiful and the staff was right there to help us hang pictures, so they were helpful on move-in as well. Overall, the move-in process, the quality of the community, the location, safety, lighting, hallways and rooms are really quite stunning. Particularly the size was noteworthy because it's big enough to be interesting and while bigger isn't necessarily better, they've struck a good balance, so it's been a great experience for her thus far. My aunt visited and said she'd be moving into the community during her next transition as well.
