The Sheridan at Chesterfield

When I moved my mom in I noticed that The Sheridan is a first class place. The housekeeping is impeccable, top notch. Management is very responsive and get back to you very quickly. So far everyone has been very accessible and responisive. I haven't had any complaints.

It's a good value. Management met all of needs and answered all of our questions. The greeting we got when moving my in-laws in was warm and welcoming. It was a great moment. I've eaten there twice and both meals were excellent. From what I have seen the activities look good. We are very satisfied.

Management is doing very well. They listen, they're very receptive, polite, and nice, and they check in all of the time. The food is really good. They offer specials and have an alternate menu. They have a lot of activities to offer, a great variety. Maintenance is great. The transportation there is great and what they are providing is awesome. We're happy with her move there, and so is she.

From the moment my dad arrived 10 people stood in the door and applauded to welcome him, it's been outstanding. David the driver has been responsive, thoughtful, on time, and worked with my schedule. Maintenance has been terrific. We had a toilet overflow and they came in all of 2 seconds. They have taken so much of the burden off my shoulders. They have a security system with these wristbands and GPS, they know where the residents and staff are at all times. He has everything he needs, there's nothing he needs that he isn't getting.

They've been remarkable. The maintenance guy was wonderful. He got her all set up for her TV and everything. He was accommodating in regards to our schedule. The grounds are beautiful. The chef has gone out of his way to help us because my mom has some pretty significant food allergies. He researched and did a bunch of work with that. I'm a cheap-skate, but I will say they are doing a really good job so I'd have to rate the value well. Carmen, the head of the Memory Care department has been wonderful. There is also a nurse named Angela who is great. The chef has gone above and beyond as well. They are all just very caring, and I haven't even met them all yet. It's a beautiful facility, it's brand new. The people that we talked to there were very warm and welcoming.

We chose the community because of the people who were showing the place off and they were interacting with the residents in the memory care. The management staff is all terrific in explaining things. They are very professional and very good. The activities are absolutely terrific. They are catching on that my mom likes puzzles so they are giving her puzzles to do. Every time I have been in there her room has been spotless and clothes have been put away. Steve helped put up pictures on the wall. He put them up instantly and did a really good job. The grounds and building are spotless. It looks great.

From the feedback I've gotten so far I'd say it’s very good. My mom's quote was 'Everybody knows my name, it's quite nice.' It's lovely when everyone greets her by name; it makes her feel at home. I think she did ride once on the bus, she said it was quite nice and that the driver was very sweet. There are a lot of activities and I like the fact that they are open to trying new ones too. It's nice that they are flexible about new ideas. I think they are pretty darn great. Denise the administrator is great and straight forward. Amanda and Dorothy have also been wonderful. I met Sue at a sister facility who transferred to this facility which I am really happy about.

I'm really pleased with the involvement of the management in the care of my mom. Everybody there knows her, not just the people who give the daily care. The reception that she got when she moved in there by the administrative team was tremendous. They have helped her get acclimated to a new environment, which is very difficult when you are 91 years old. I don't have any complaints about dining. I've eaten there myself a number of times and the food has always been good. They are attentive to all of the residents while they are eating - stopping and asking if they want anything else. I think that is great. She's got lots of options. There are certain things that she really likes, and they know that. They take the time to get to know what she likes, and they remember.
She doesn't go to all the activities because there are so many! I think things are geared toward different levels of participation. There are some things that are very easy for her to attend and be a part of and there are other things that are just not areas of her interest, but there is a variety, music, arts and crafts, a reading program. She was a school teacher, and reading was a big part of her life. This is an out loud kind of reading and talking about what it means. It's very good. And all the staff participates in it - everybody is involved. Maintenance helped with a couple things when she moved in. I brought in some hand rails to go on the side of her toilet, and they installed it for me. We went out for lunch and when we came back it was done! I'll get a phone call from the caregivers letting me know what she's done that day or that she needs something. It's nice that they call me before I come in. They are very kind people.

Rooms are well designed and the décor is beautiful. The dining area is lovely. Tess and her staff do a phenomenal job with the activities and that's appreciated. Maintenance is helpful when I call them. Although there are some shortcomings; I would recommend the community.

We chose this community for my dad for the value and services it provided. The management staff is responsive and attentive to the questions me and my dad have. Dad enjoys the meals. It is a very nice community and it amazes me how quiet it is and the builders did a great job.
