The Sheridan at Cooper City

We chose The Sheridan at Cooper City based on location and so far, we're really happy she got to move there. Since it's all inclusive with her meals and everything she gets regarding laundry or even apartment cleaning, I'd say it's a good value. Management is very attentive to my mother's needs and any questions or anything that I have had; they have been good with answering whatever I have needed. Specifically, the Executive Director has really just been wonderful since she resolves any hiccups we've had and the Maintenance Director has been super as well. He put up a TV mount and helped hang her pictures, so he was really helpful when my mother moved in. Regarding general maintenance, it's a beautiful building and the apartment is nice. Her room is very cute and I really like the bathroom because she can just wheel herself into the shower, so it's resident friendly and the counters are low enough for her. Regarding her care, the Nurses have been excellent and she loves the activities offered. There are physical ones offered, otherwise they do card games and games, but she really loves the exercise classes. Regarding dining, we understand that other people have restrictive diets, so she likes the food and enjoys the portion sizes being provided. Overall, it's been a great experience for her thus far, she feels safe and comfortable at the community.

They made it easy for me to make a decision. I was pressed with time restraints and management helped me through all the paperwork. Amanda has been so helpful with her transitioning and helping her settle there. She plays such a key role in them feeling good. My mother-in-law wasn't happy at her other place and she is extremely happy here. She loves the food and is gaining weight. They encourage her in a way that she is happy to participate in the activities. The care staff is fantastic. They are always helping them. I go often and every time I go in there they are doing something with the patients. My mother-in-law says they are great people. She talks highly of everybody there and that to me speaks volumes. The quality of care exceeds our expectations. We are very happy with it.

I think the management has been excellent under the circumstances. In regards to the dining, it looks good. It seems to be fine and my mother eats. There are certainly good choices. Housekeeping is excellent. I think the facility is very well maintained. The nurse and the aides I find to be extremely helpful. They always let me know when my mother needs something. Loony is wonderful. She always lets me know things. I think they are great. They are nice and they are kind people. I haven't had any issues with them whatsoever. I think they are very attentive. I think they are doing a fine job and we are getting what we pay for. When she was in assisted living the value was phenomenal. Overall, I think the value is quite good. It is comparable because I looked at others and I like this a lot better.

My parents are 92 and 94, almost 93 and 95 and have been there a couple years. They're happy with the room. Stacy, the Director is good. Sheila, who Stacy replaced, was also excellent. I never have problems getting through. Stacy just gave me all the contact numbers I need in case I have any issues. If I have any questions or concerns, I ask or relay that to the care giver staff, and they are right on it. They're always right there when needed. My parents do go out for lunches during the week on the shuttle bus there. They don’t use it for doctor's appointments, I handle that, and they don’t do the shopping, but I know those services are offered. Sometimes they use it to go out to dinner. The driver is real good with them. The Activities Coordinator and her assistant are good. There is always an in-house activity or outing you can go on. All in all housekeeping is pretty good. They strip the beds and do laundry once a week. If we call, maintenance comes up that day. If dad is having issues with his TV or computer, or if there is a problem with the toilet, he's up within a few hours. They're safe; I do feel that, I know they're watched over on the front porch.

My aunt has a very nice space, we had a great welcome offer when we got there and she's been there a little over a year, I do know the other options out there so I do see value in what we pay. Everybody is very nice, they're lively, she is very happy with everybody there. There's always different activities happening every time I’m in there, there's always something going on. The housekeeping and healthcare services are great, theyr'e responsive. Regarding the maintenance, if you ask them anything, it get's handled. They take good care of the facility.

Mom’s been living there two years now, she’s in Memory Care. What activities my mother participates in, she enjoys. There's a decent number of events. Housekeeping is excellent, always clean, no problems with that. The care givers are great. Amanda goes above and beyond she is in charge of Memory Care. The managers are responsive, and take care of my needs or my mother's needs. No complaints about the services, so value is fine. For the money I pay, mom gets great care.

I think the price is fair relative to the competition. We looked around and for the amenities and it being a brand new facility I would say it is a good value. My parents like their big apartment. There seems to be plenty to do in activities. They are pleased with the housekeeping and maintenance. The care staff is excellent.

I chose this community for my mom because I liked that it wasn't too large and it seemed attractive. It looked like the staff was caring. The management and caregivers are respectful, knowledgeable, accessible and responsive.

The management is terrific and my mother loves the food. Compared to other facilities that are almost exactly the same price, I feel the newness of the facility, the way it's maintained, the staff, the food, her room is a lovely room, and we’re definitely getting the value that we pay for. We just love the atrium in Memory Care, it's just great, we can get her out and the building is clean, neat and always smells good. She feels very comfortable with the healthcare staff, overall I'm happy.

Coming from another place a year ago, The Sheridan is more expensive, but the care my dad gets is so much better and it's a nicer apartment. The nursing staff is so much better, it's worth it. I think the servers are lovely to my father. Housekeeping and laundry are excellent, and the entire community is clean. It's exceptional care for my father. He is safe, dad is comfortable, and they have been wonderful to my father and me.
