The Sheridan at Cooper City

I like the management, they're very communicative and the care staff are excellent. The building is perfectly clean, maintenance does a great job. The housekeeping and laundry services are excellent and the activities are also excellent, they have great activities.

I chose The Sheridan at Cooper City for my parents simply because they needed assistance. So far, it's been good because they're getting a lot of things, so I think they're really getting their money's worth. I toured others before I got to this community and right from when I walked in, I got a good feel for it. It's beautiful, but it's also warm, which is nice. Management does a good job in that they're receptive, they go out of their way to go up to my parents to encourage them to do activities and they return calls. My parents are enjoying the food there and the dining service has been really nice, so the dining experience has been satisfactory. The activity people are fantastic, they offer lots of things and they do a bunch of outside activities, so I am pleased with them. The place itself is very beautiful, spotless and pretty, including the apartment. The maintenance guy in particular seems to walk around and does a lot of things, so whoever he is he has been really nice. With regards to the healthcare staff, the Nurse is very good, the caregivers are very good and the med techs are really good. Overall, I am happy with everything and happy to say there is peace of mind for me in that they're in a safe setting. I would definitely recommend it to others and I actually have a list of recommended places, so I have put this community on the list.

Management does a pretty good job over there, they seem to care about the residents. There is always plenty of food and it's always pretty good. There are lots of good music and activities for the people to do and the healthcare staff is great. All in all, everything seems to be pretty good.

The management is so attentive and caring, I can’t speak highly enough of them, and they’ve made sure mom has been safe and comfortable these past two years. I have asked them to try and make sure things get resolved, and they do. Mom was having a rough time, her husband passed away, and they really helped me with her. Now she is sitting with people and engaging again, and I know it's all because of the people we're talking about. Christy I deal with at the front desk is amazing. They're always checking on me when I'm there. They're a very good team; I am so pleased with them. I have the Med Techs giving mom her medicine now, and that's really working out. Now that she's getting the right medication on time, she's more alert. They're doing a great job dispensing medication. I know there was a podiatrist who came in the other day, she said he was wonderful. I know I have gotten calls from the nurses whenever they need to let me know if mom has fallen. They do a good job keeping the family abreast of the situation. I love the activities gals too. They'll go knocking on mom's door and always remind her to join in. Those people are so sweet, I know it's Kamara and I forgot the name of the other girl. They're always trying to introduce new activities, and take suggestions from residents as to what they want. I think they're doing a good job. Mom is happy with the transportations service, every Thursday she uses it to go the beauty parlor. She says the driver is nice and excellent. Mom's room is wonderful, absolutely wonderful. If there is a problem it is always addressed by maintenance, and I know mom is very happy with housekeeping. She says they always do a good job, they come every Thursday and she is very happy with the way they do cleaning and laundry. I think they're doing a pretty good job. Trust me, if there was something wrong, she would complain, but she doesn't. We were speaking recently and she said they do a good job and she's happy with them. As long as she's happy, I'm happy.

My aunt lives at the community and I think the room is nice and clean.

We are still there and we don't want to move my father so that says something positive. When I need something the management staff definitely makes arrangements to talk with me. They try to keep the building up very well and the maintenance staff always come and take care of whatever he needs.

We have JT in the management position now and he's doing very well. The activities are pretty good and maintenance is pretty good. There are always going to be some things that are better than others but overall it's a pretty good value.

I would think the management is fine there, and the activities seem pretty good. My dad doesn’t participate, but they seem well-organized and entertaining. I know maintenance just came and did a cleaning of his carpet that was appreciated after two years there. They have done repairs in his rooms, it was taken care of, it was fine, and it was good. I think the transportation service has been going well. Overall, dad is comfortable, he's safe, and so I think we're getting a good value.

Management is always available, they help us work on issues and have been very helpful. The care staff is very helpful, they're gentle with my mother-in-law and they try to get what they need to get done while cooperating with her. The servers are helpful in the dining room and the food is good. The building is very clean and nice. My mother-in-law's place seems to be clean and the aides keep her clothes clean. For my mother-in-laws age, they offer different activities and I think it's good for her to do something.

My mom has been at the community for a little over a year now. Management is very accessible, caring, concerned and I see that they know every resident by name, which is admirable. I know she very much likes to sit downstairs when they have Happy Hour and music, so I know there is a variety of activities that they have. The housekeeping is pretty good and anytime we have needed anything done or adjusted, one phone call and maintenance came right up. Regarding her care, the healthcare staff has all been wonderful. They're very caring and know every single resident's issues. They're friendly, greet residents by name and anytime I call them to check on my mom they do, so I value them highly and I feel very safe having her there.
