The Sheridan at Laumeier Park

I have been satisfied with the accommodations my wife and I received at The Sheridan at Laumeier Park. We've only had our new Director for about 2 weeks now, but he is doing an outstanding job and is always in the halls. The community is maintained and if you have something wrong, for instance like our hot water problems, they jumped right on it and got it fixed, so now things are in good shape. With have been satisfied with laundry services and The Sheridan's housekeeping staff is excellent. In terms of activities, it's difficult to get residents involved, but there is a wide variety and the Acitivity Director does a fine job. In terms of the dining experience, we have menu variety and the wait staff kids that have been here are onto the systems, so they have been very good. Overall, we're comfortable here and tell people it's a great place.

The building is great, it was a very nice bang for the buck, it was a beautiful facility. The dining staff actually took into account my loved one's dietary needs and made it very appetizing for him so I truly give the dietary team and the food service team a lot of credit. I think they cared about him being part of the activities and he was always invited. I think they did a really nice job of making sure he was well cared for with the transportation services and the healthcare staff knew and cared for him, they did great by him and kept him well.

The price at this community was very comparable to other places we looked into. Everybody was excellent there. Mark and Lindsey, in management, were very helpful. My sister-in-law liked the food and my mom never complained about the activities. She was always happy with what they were doing. They did coloring, drawing and things like that. The housekeeping was wonderful. It was very clean and her clothes were always well kept and clean. Scott, in maintenance, was very helpful in moving furniture around when we asked him to. He was wonderful and very helpful. My mom enjoyed getting out and going on the outings with the transportation. The caregivers were wonderful and would always give me updates on things. It was a great experience and we wish she could have stayed longer but she needed skilled nursing.

They have activities and things that people can do and it's great for anyone that is able to do these things. When my husband and I first moved in maintenance was good with getting our fixtures hung. The bus driver will take us on the bus if we need to go to the dentist or other appointments.

Maintenance better than average, it's clean and neat, the common areas are well maintained. They modified the sink for my husband and that was good, maintenance responds when we ask.

I like her room very much and it is very accessible for her in the wheelchair. For what Mom is capable of it is a great place for her. The management team has been very helpful throughout. They were extremely helpful when we were moving her in. They made it easy for us to transition her in from long term care. I would say that maintenance is very good. They seem very attentive and even helped my mom change her clock for daylight savings time. The care staff is always good to call me with anything. Even if it is minor they make sure I am aware of it and I appreciate it. Those are her friends and she knows them all by name.

I had a choice of a few places around me and The Sheridan just seemed to stand out for some reason. The people were so friendly and the location was close. I'm happy my sister-in-law is in a safe place. Management sits down and talks with me when needed and they were very gracious about moving my sister-in-law's things to another room when we moved her to memory care. The food looks great and my sister-in-law enjoys the food. They take the residents out here and there on little trips, take them out to lunch once in a while and to get them outside is just wonderful. The place is spotless. I was in maintenance my whole life and it would have been nice having a guy like this working for me. The driver of the bus is wonderful. The care staff does a wonderful job with my sister-in-law and she feels wanted there and cared for.

My mom participates in a lot of the activities and I appreciate that they come to get her to join in on the activities. Everything seems to be in good working order in my mom's apartment and she's never expressed any needs with maintenance. Things go pretty well with my mom's care and if we have a concern we call and it gets taken care of. Scott is one of our favorite guys there; he does a great job with the transportation. We're very happy with the community in general, it is pricey, but overall we're pleased.

The Sheridan was recommended by the place he was at previously, so dad moved in. It's a very nice place, very new and clean, with very attentive staff, and good food. The apartment is nice. Dad seems settled in pretty much, he seems comfortable. It's a brand new community, very clean and nice, and sits in a very nice setting with woods around it. The caregivers are attentive and have helped him out, get things done, and take care of dad. There seems to be enough staff around to help all the residents. Dad seems to like the food. I had lunch with him and the food was good, and the servers take care of the residents so everything went smooth and well. Dad likes the activities, he's participated in the Friday night social gatherings where they have musicians come in. The Sheridan is doing a great job, it's a nice place.

When we toured the staff gave that sense of pride and they interacted with the other residents living there very well, I could tell that respect was given to the residents. Mark Fontana, the Executive Director, was very knowledgeable and helped us understand the process of getting the documents and Holly was very knowledgeable of the contract. There were no surprises, everything was already explained to us prior to so it made our transaction very smooth. There are activities there and I think there are some bigger events in the downstairs area that are very nice. I believe they do come and get them and take them down and they do take them on outings. All in all, everything looks fine.
