The Sheridan at Overland Park

It's a nice new building with a beautiful edifice, built strong. Housekeeping and laundry are okay, and as of late, the care has been really good. I am not a big participator in activities but I play bridge and trivia. Breakfast is excellent and I am satisfied with the service from the wait staff. The entire staff is good and things are pretty good. I have no complaints. Everything seems to be going okay.

I think that the management is awesome. They are very nice and very involved. The director of the memory care unit cares a lot. You can tell it is her passion just from talking to her and seeing her work with the residents.I have never met people who care and are more involved then they are. They know each resident. They understands the importance of keeping the residents involved and not sitting in their room all day. I think that all the techs there are willing to jump in and help and understand when the residents are upset and they have a lot patience and understanding.

We've had an excellent experience at the community, everyone was happy with the chef and the food. Both the Assisted Living dining servers as well as the Memory Care caregivers serving were excellent. There were a lot of daily activities and movies in the evenings. They had spa days to do nails and hair in Memory Care and that was really nice. If I needed something I'd ask and maintenance would come and do it, they were excellent, always, and did a good job. The Memory Care Director was also very good and the staff was excellent too. Every one of the residents were groomed, the staff were diligent and maintained care, they understood what people need. I trusted them and mom got her medication on time. In the two years mom was there I was pleased, the staff were sincere, trustworthy, and made my mom and I feel part of their family. The value was very good and I always felt safe with her there. I appreciated everything they did and I thought they did an excellent job.

Overall, my mother is very happy here. The food is good and the the activities department seem very well organized. The management and healthcare staff were very friendly and helpful when moving my mom into the community, and, from what I've seem, the building and the apartment is clean and well-maintained.

When I look at what she is getting by living here, I couldn't be happier. She is having three really good meals everyday and she is around people. She is having a good quality of life. We have been really impressed with the activities and really pleased with the staff.

The service in the dining room is fine, the activities are very good and my father gets his medications when he is supposed to. The new director seems nice and personable. I feel truly blessed we were able to get my father into this community.

When we visited we had a good tour and had a resident referral, so we selected it. My aunt gets an activities schedule every day, the housekeeping is good and the healthcare staff is excellent.

We moved my mom in because it was convenient, close to our home. There are a lot of activities going on and the building is very nice. As for her care, so far so good on that. The medication daily has been great.

I chose this community for my mom because I had done a lot of research and it was the way they were set up for the activities and the individual rooms that made it not seem like a nursing home situation. Anadee, the girl at the desk, is outstanding and the girl in the billing office is outstanding. Most of the time the food is pretty good and the girls work hard. Brenda, the activities director, is awesome. I think they are very well educated in what memory care residents need. I love the girls in housekeeping and thing they are awesome. When we asked maintenance for the TV to be put in, it was done promptly. The building is new enough so there aren't many issues. I think the caregivers are great folks and they are responsive.

When everything is working right, it's great, we searched a long time. The variety of food good, my mom likes that. I think the activities are pretty good, there are a lot of things they provide. Maintenance has been really great, they come and hang or fix things. I do feel she's safe and comfortable and she's made a lot of friends.
