The Sheridan at South Jordan

Based on the other facilities I went and checked out I feel it is a good value. The staff was amazing when we were visiting. When we left they gave us a hug. It just felt welcoming and warm. The facility had a nice flow and we really liked the homemade cookies. I have seen a calendar and there are a lot of activities offered. The maintenance staff has been helpful to us during the move in. In terms of his care; my biggest exposure has been to Curtis and he is amazing. My husband tells me the CNAs he works with are good.

I have been happy with how things have gone overall and how he has been treated. I think he feels safe and happy there. I could see a change when he moved into memory care. The management were all super friendly and inviting. They answered all my questions. They were really kind to my Dad when we brought him over there and were really patient with him and super helpful. The memory care director Trina has been great with my Dad. He calls her his boss and I think he follows her everywhere when she is there. The food seems more homecooked in a sense. You could tell they took care in making it. It was presented nice and tasted well. I like the activities they offer and I appreciate the outings they do. They do more than just scenic drives. They get out and do something.

I thought my mother was going to have an interaction problem at The Sheridan of South Jordan, but so far she has had a really positive experience with all the other residents there. I don't know who activated the process of crocheting with her, but she used to like to do it and is excited about doing it again, plus she also decided to go to Tai Chi, so they do have a variety of activities offered for the residents. The housekeeping is taking care of her really well and there are no issues with the laundry. In terms of care, the ladies come in and take care of her with monitoring her blood pressure and taking her sugar. She went to a Christmas pageant type thing using the transportation services, after a little nudge, so she has been using it more often and is satisfied with its flexibility. Regarding dining, she is satisfied with the quality of food and the service is adequate. Overall, I think the community has been an improvement on her mental health and I am satisfied with the price, services and accommodations that she is provided with. I told management that I don't know how they do it to take care of all of the residents because before The Sheridan, it was hard for me with just one.

I am very grateful for The Sheridan because they have done a great job for me and my father who is living at the community, so I am satisfied with the services and accommodations that are provided for him. Management has gone out of their way to make sure my dad has gotten whatever he needed, but really every time we speak to management, there is always a good outcome. The dining service is great and the activities are great too because he always has plenty to do if he chooses to participate. I know he plays Bingo and he loves to watch the groups that come in to play music, but there is also a deaf lady there who teaches sign language, so he enjoys going in there and learning how to sign as well. Regarding housekeeping, he gets a full clean once a week and it's generally pretty good, with laundry also being satisfactory. While we haven't had any maintenance issues, things work great and the building is always very nice. In terms of his care, all of the staff is very responsive and if he has to ever press his button, the aides and Nurses are very helpful. They also always look him in the eyes, showing concern for him, so the care has been really good. Overall, it's been a pleasant experience for him at the community and we have already recommended it to others.

My dad always says he does things and he says they always have activities going on. I see that things are relatively clean and the building always looks nice. He goes to Walmart once a week, so the transportation must be working well. I think the care is good. I haven't seen anything lacking.

The staff in dining and activities do a very good job with my mom. We are satisfied with the service we receive from housekeeping, maintenance and care. I think the caregivers really do the best that they can. Overall, the building looks really nice.

I think this is an excellent value. We were the first ones to move into the Sheridan. I had 32 rooms to pick from and they were laughing at me because I made such a stink over it. I wanted to make sure it was small but had a view and I wanted the pull cord on the right side because of how I wanted to design it. My aunt is in one of the smallest rooms and I am completely satisfied with it. I think when I know everyone’s name and they all know my name it is a family atmosphere. I think that stems from the top down. I have nothing but great things to say about their respectfulness. They have clear communication. When something does come up they already have solutions. The dining has been good, the quality has been good, the taste is good. You never hit 100% with everything but the fact there is an option to do a salad or something else has been really fabulous. I am satisfied with the service my aunt receives from housekeeping, maintenance and the activities that are provided. I normally pick her up and take her to appointments. But, I was in a predicament once and needed to get her to an appointment and they did it without question. They did it and were great. I was in a pinch and it was all about making it work and was awesome. It is hard to work with someone in their personal hygiene if they are a little reluctant to be cooperative and I think they do a great job. They are almost perfect. You won't find anything better for value in the Valley. I think the staff from the executive directors all the way down to aides is respectful and willing to listen to family members. They are just as respectful to my aunt who was in the memory care. I didn't see the difference in how they spoke to her from speaking to me and thought that was wonderful.

The value we are getting here is amazing. Mom is happy here and not crying like she was at the other place. The management staff just goes out of their way to try and make each of the residents feel welcome and part of a greater group. The food here is great. For instance, they have prime rib, mashed sweet potatoes and steamed vegetables. I mean, I don't even eat that well. Ice cream and triple chocolate cake for dessert, makes your mouth water. The service is great as well. Everything that I have seen from activities, the bingo, to the drawing and painting are amazing. The field trips they have I wish I could go on. It is just great. I was impressed with her apartment it was like a brand new unit when she moved in. The care staff is most caring. They are taking care of her medication. They are making sure they are packaged properly and dispense them properly to her throughout the day. They are checking on her and making sure she is coming to meals. If she needs any assistance or anything they are doing that as well. It is pretty impressive.

The management was good. They were really professional and explained things very well. I talked to Vanessa and she was really good. I told her we were just looking. She called me every couple of weeks to see where we were at and she was really understanding through that whole thing. It was not real high pressure which was really nice. I appreciated that. He said they come in every day and do a light cleaning and every week they come in do a more involved cleaning. From what he has indicted the care givers check on him fairly often during the day and evening. When I am there and walking down the hallway everyone always says hello. That has been really good. For the most part he seems like he is pretty happy there.

The management have been very responsive when I have any concerns come up. My parents like the activities. They participate in what they are interested in. They have a weekly calendar so we can see what is going on and encourage them to go to things. It is a beautiful building and it is nice. In terms of housekeeping, the room looked pretty good when we were there.
