St. Augustine Plantation

The management is awesome. That is the overriding factor that I tell everybody about. The chef is awesome as well. The community has done a lot of remodeling and it is beautiful. They did an outstanding job. Maintenance is very good. He is very responsive. The driver is wonderful. If anything ever happens and he leaves it would be a huge loss. The bus recently had some things done. There is a caregiver there named Beth and she deserves some recognition. She is wonderful. I can ask her something and I can count on her that it will get done. She really cares about the people.

I am grateful to have them. My mother is eating well and seems to like the food. The activities and housekeeping have both been fine. Anytime I ask maintenance to fix anything they get on it right away. The building is beautiful. They help me with transportation to get her to doctors’ appointments. They do a good job of getting her there and waiting with her. Everyone is kind, nobody is inappropriate or anything like that. The way they handled the hurricane was outstanding. They had all the provisions they needed, the staff stayed there even with their children to ride out the storm. They did everything they could to make sure the residents weren't upset or panicked or anything. I thought it was a 100% performance in a trying situation.

Every dollar spent was worthwhile. The security was fantastic without being seen. It felt and looked safe. It was great. The room that was chosen for my mom and I made it so we were both able to have a bed. We had no shared wall except for our closet. That made it so our Yorkie wasn't heard. The room was just perfect. Management was the most hands on, personable and yet efficient folks I have ever seen. Laura and Crystal came and visited my mom in the hospital to do the initial interview to make sure mom was appropriate to come here. They were both fantastic. The core management team was amazing and I could always depend on them. Everything got done in a timely and satisfactory manner. We could not go down to the dining room because of our dog. Our meals were brought to our room. I sought out the chef on a number of times due to the excellence of the quality and variety of the food. You never got the same food twice. They had the highest quality food for an assisted living. Their rosemary chicken was to die for. The staff made sure we didn't go hungry. We put out our requests on what we would like but they made sure we never missed a meal. I would go through the dining room and I always noticed how the staff treated each resident like they were John D. Rockefeller. The service was given with respect and care. One day, there was an activity going on and only one resident showed up. The staff treated that one resident like there were 100 residents there. That resident had the best time. I saw that over and over again. The housekeeping was great. I tried to wash our own stuff to help take the load off them. The staff was respectful of our space and cleaned well. The woman was amazing. She was high energy and had a big smile. She would come in and get everything she needed to get. She was always working. If anything needed to be done, she was right there and would take it. James was the head of maintenance. He was like a Pitbull. Our TV didn't work when we moved in. We moved in on a Friday night at 10pm. It took him 2 days to get the right box for our TV. He could have let it go a few days but he tried different boxes to get the right one for us. Our little fridge was iced up in the freezer part. As soon as he found that out, he sent someone up right away to take care of it. The grounds were so relaxing. They were kept terrifically nice and the grass was cut perfectly. I miss the grounds now that I am not there. You feel like a part of the family there and that starts with the curb appeal. When you pull up the driveway, you are met with an “oh wow” factor. I saw the driver interacting with the residents in the hallway. He was terrific. The whole service was good. The staff anticipated our needs and did a wonderful job. Beth and Eric went above and beyond. There were others that did too. The staff was happy. The staff that was there came through like champions. They would remember special requests and the little things. It was just wonderful. Will is the LPN and he is extraordinary. He took such great care of us. He is so dialed in. All in all you feel like family there.

I am happy and feel like it is a good value. The management team is very responsive. They all gave me their cell phone numbers. They all text and when I text them they text me right back. My mom and I both love the food there. I think they have a great selection of activities offered. The maintenance staff is great and very responsive. I think the care staff has been great. She has a nurse named William and I really like him. There is another nurse aide named Eric and my mom loves him. All of the people have been great.

I think this is a great place for my mom because it is near where she used to live so she is familiar with the surroundings and it feels like home for her. Every time I have talked to management and had any concerns they have handled it immediately. My mother has been pleased with it but she recently got out of the hospital and doesn't have much of an appetite. Right now they don't have much that she is interested in as a result, but prior to that she really enjoyed the food. They have been bending over backwards to try to find something that she would enjoy eating. The activities provided at this community are appropriate for the community. The house cleaning seems to be good and anytime I have asked for additional cleaning, they have taken care of it. Maintenance has gone way above the call of duty before to help us out and get things straight. We used the transportation one time and they were very prompt and courteous. I have been very happy with the caregivers I have come into contact with.

I love the management, they're very helpful, they're a great crew. Every time I've been there the food has been very good. The laundry services are wonderful, she does an excellent job. Maintenance has done a lot of upkeep and painting and has done a real good job. The healthcare staff look after her very well, I'm very pleased, the nurses are wonderful. They always get back to me when I have a question, they're very good. Crystal is a wonderful head person. I'm very pleased; I can't say enough nice things about it.

Every penny spent at St Augustine Plantation is given back to me and more to my family. The management staff are hands on, yet professional and incredibly capable, yet at the same time personable. Some people will take their heart out to help you, but they don't get anything done at a business level and here they have been able to straddle that, bringing both sides in when both sides where incredibly important to both my mother and I. I am amazed with the dining. We haven't been able to dine in the dining room because my mom is ill, but I told the Chef that it's incredible to be able to produce on the level that he and the kitchen does. The Director told me that when she took the job, she wanted everyone to have restaurant quality meals, so she has digested that information and went through with it. Having that food comes in fresh and hot looking like that makes your day. I watch the servers and for each resident that lives here, they change their approach and you can see that. I can see from the residents' body language of how well that it is received. The activities are very clearly listed each day and the staff makes an effort to make sure the residents know what is going on. I see housekeeping come through once a week doing a very thorough job and the maintenance man is a bulldog. I have worked at Disney and Universal, but these guys are batting a thousand with customer service. Regarding the care, they're just so wonderful and they change as our needs change, they modify and anticipate so it's been a really pleasant experience for our family.

My brother made the choice to move mom into St. Augustine Plantation, and he said it was a lot based on price. I've eaten there twice, it was good food and the servers were very friendly. Management is okay, as are the activities. Housekeeping is good, and I think most of the caregivers are okay. Mom's safe, comfortable, and happy with her apartment, so the value is good too.

My mother moved into thise community because a relative of a relative had been there and that family was pleased. Everything seems to be fine and she seems to be eating. Everyone at this community is very personable. The housekeeping is very good and everything is fine regarding maintenance. The caregivers are good. Everything is going well.

Management was always accessible and you don't find that in many places, usually you have to make that an appointment, it couldn't have been any better. The dining service, housekeeping and transportation services were excellent, we couldn't have been any happier. Maintenance is fantastic, they were very helpful. I know all the staff there and they're like family to me, I can't say enough good. When Will left his shift at midnight, he went to check on my father at the hospital, his patient at St. Augustine, and called me at 1am and told me what his situation was, that's just unbelievable. I can't say enough good about St. Augustine Plantation and it looks like a five star hotel, it's beautiful.
