Sunflower Gardens

I had visited another location of the company's, and this one is closer to my dad so he can visit my mom who just moved in. It's beautiful, it smells good, and the people are kind. Her apartment is very nice and well taken care of. We’re satisfied with housekeeping and if something is wrong, the maintenance guy some up and fixes it right away. We’ve been satisfied with the food, and the care staff is awesome.

This is way better then another facility that was more expensive for my mom because my mom likes it there. I appreciate them sending the flyers in the mail about things coming up. I also appreciate the monthly events. I think housekeeping has been fine and the caregivers do a good job.

Everyone at this community is very good at keeping the gate monitored. I have no safety concerns and my wife's room is fine. Management has been very helpful and responsive to me. It seems like the staff in the dining room is responsive and the food seems to be well prepared. It seems like everything is clean. I see people keeping up with all the cleaning duties and her clothing seems to be laundered well. I have seen the maintenance people keeping up with things. Overall, maintenance seems fine. The caregivers have all been helpful and wonderful.

I think the price here is well worth the value for my parents. The management has done a good job. The food and service from dining are really good. When they have activities they are very good as is maintenance. The only thing we have asked them to do was hang some pictures and they did that just fine. The common areas are very nice. My parents use the transportation for outings and to go to the doctors when we couldn't take them.

The new management seems to be doing a very good job. She comes out into the facility where the residents are at. She seems to be very involved and caring for the people as well as the rest of the staff. There is always something happening, activities wise. They have people come in at least once a week. There is a young man in maintenance that is always around and is very helpful if I need something tended to. He is very involved with keeping the building up. One of the reasons we chose this place is the gardens are really nice to walk around in. The aides that provide care for her are very much on top of everything. They care for her both physically and mentally.

The caregivers here are all tuned to how to deal with these Alzheimer's residents. They are heart fully engaged in all the patients. They are helpful and attentive. They are good to help me get my mother in and out of the car because I can’t do it by myself. The medical techs are very tuned in to all the residents and when there is a change in behavior that becomes an immediate concern. They always seem to have some kind of activity so the people aren’t just lined up in the hallway. They have music brought in and the residents all seem to like it. The housekeeping does a good job based on the lack of odor and the hygiene of this place. The building is in good condition. There are no cracks in the sidewalk so they are on top of things here.

The management team answers all of our questions, and addresses all of our needs that relate to my mother-in-law. The caregivers are attentive to her needs, and housekeeping is good. Her bedroom is always clean, toilet, bathroom area is always clean. And she always has clothes in her closet. My mother-in-law gets fed regularly, I've seen the menu, it looks great, and the diversity of activities is fine. She's comfortable and her apartment is fine, and we know she's safe there.

My mom and I like Sunflower Gardens. The main thing that works for the community is the large outside areas residents can enjoy. Maintenance keeps the building very well maintained. I think the care staff is exceptional. They are kind, caring, they understand the difficulties faced by patients, and they really care and take good care there. I think the director and management are good people and they seem to take good care of the residents. They are respectful and knowledgeable, and the housekeepers are very clean and take care of stuff. I think for the price, it's very reasonable the value, for what we get. We like it. I think they do a good job, they take care of the residents, and they maintain a good atmosphere.

My mother-in-law's apartment is fine and the service in the dining room is good. The activities are excellent. The selection is very good. One time they had someone come in and play the harp. The cleaning is excellent and whenever something is requested to be fixed, maintenance fixes it right away. The transportation that they have given her was fine. Everytime I have seen the caregivers, they have been very attentive to all the residents.

Comparing to other communities that we have seen, Sunflower Gardens was the best overall for my mom's care. The med techs are pretty good and when I see a problem, they always take care of things as well as making sure my mom gets her medicine. Management seems nice, housekeeping is good with keeping things clean, laundry goes well and the quality of food seems pretty good since my mom seems to eat everything that they serve. Regarding maintenance, it's a very nice place and it is beautiful inside, they have a maintenance man who is constantly doing something and never stopping so all in all it has been a good fit for our family.
