Symphony at Centerville

It’s was clean and close to where I live, so we moved mom and dad in. The care givers and maintenance are always responsive and kind. It's a brand new building, it's beautiful. I especially like they have evening and weekend activities. Their apartment is perfect and I feel my parents are safe.

The community is doing a 100% top of the line job there. They take of residents, keep the building up, you couldn’t ask for anything better.

I chose this community for my mom because I really like the approach that Heather Bass, the Executive Director, has. The food is good and the dining room staff is very attentive. If my mom doesn't like something, they'll give her something else. The nurses are very receptive and tell me if my mom is having a good day or a bad day. Larry in maintenance has been wonderful and very helpful with anything I've needed. He's very happy, kind and just a really nice guy. One thing I really like is that the staff is always happy, they're kind, they say hi and I can tell that they're taking good care of my mother.

The staff are all real nice. They are real good people. My dad likes the food pretty good. He never has any complaints and he seems to be eating well. In regards to the housekeeping, they do a good job of keeping everything looking good. It always looks nice every time we are there. His clothes are always caught up and he has clean ones to wear. The building looks like it is still brand new. The aides are absoultely terrific. Everyone that I have met have been just as good as they can be. The nursing staff takes care of all his needs. I think he sees the nurse practitioner the most and she is excellent. She keeps me informed and actually they all do. They get in touch with me if there is a question or a problem. They have always gotten back to me. They are excellent. I have no complaints of the staff.

Of the four I looked at, it's a new community, and I liked the staff a lot, so my wife moved in. I like her room, it's maybe 50 yards from the entrance. The management team did make me an offer and I did take it, it's less than the published price. Other places have furniture packages and I here they didn’t. I toured the model and the marketing person offered if I told them what I could afford, they'd come up with something. They gave me a deal on a package with a bed, furniture, and maybe a TV and it saved me a lot of trouble. I met the chef and I am very comfortable with him. I went to the Christmas party which lasted for two or three hours. Everyone was surprised at how busy it was, it was pretty well packed. My wife had a good time. She's always in an activity and they tell me she loves them. The cleanliness and stuff like that is excellent, we’re satisfied with housekeeping and maintenance. I met the maintenance guy, really nice guy. Her apartment is brand new; I don’t think anyone rented it before my wife. The place is only a year old. The care staff seems to like her a lot which is pretty important to me. I can call any time or visit any time which is good. I am very happy with the staff; they all call me, that's good.

We only had a few days to look for a community for my wife and we think Symphony at Centerville is the best place for her, with the initial transport being very welcoming. She has a room that looks out into the exterior, so it's nice to watch out there in the summer and the price is reasonable for the care provided because the healthcare staff is respectful, knowledgeable and responsive. Management is very good and they seem to know what they're doing, but they also make me feel at home because they all work well and have positive attitudes. The dining service seems to be very good, but since I have only eaten there a couple of times, I usually go mostly by what I hear as I walk by and people say nice things about the food. The activity staffing seems very inclusive in making sure everyone is involved and as I walk through the building, people seem to remember my name, which means they're paying attention. The place is clean, including being dust free and I haven't even had a chance to see how it looks when it's dirty is how fast it's cleaned by housekeeping. The staff is also right on top of laundry, which surprises me, and my wife gets more changes of clothes than ever before, so it's really been a good experience so far.

I am very pleased with the value my father receives at Symphony at Centerville. I found it on the internet and after speaking with the marketing lady, she just did a fabulous job of pulling me in to come for a tour. Since then, I can call her any time and she is either right there or returns my call. She's curious with how things are going and if my mom has any concerns, she calls me. The quality of foods good in that it's tasty and healthy and the activities are very engaging, he really enjoys them and they're important to his health. The housekeeping is excellent. I have been in a lot of Assisted Living where there’s an odor or their trash to pick up, but they keep it very clean here. Overall, it's very nice there and it's like a lodge. Every time I am in there, the staff is pleasant and helps me, so they're just so kind.

I think they're doing a really good job with the dining. My mom seems to like the meals, they help her cut things up and I think she enjoys the taste of the food so I think they're doing a good job and they've been very friendly. Their Activities Director is amazing, I've never come and found my mom sitting in her room watching TV ever, and she’s always participating. The healthcare staff has done really well, when I walk in, they'll talk to me about how she's doing or what's new or different or anything like that so they've done very well, they've all been very friendly and open with me.

Most of what we looked at for my wife was less expensive, but didn't offer the accommodations that we liked about Symphony like the private room and things like that, so you get what you pay for. We like the newness, layout and things like that here, so the community is very nice and it's nicer than most that we looked at. So far management is very good and the dining experience overall has a good variety and is very acceptable. I also think the activities are really good; they're well planned and consistently offered to the residents at the community, so it's been a good experience for my wife so far. Maintenance as far as moving her from one room to the other was satisfactory and the healthcare staff is real good, they're respectful, knowledgeable and accessible to the residents.

We had a family advisor for elderly, she was referred to us through St. Leonard's and she's the one that found the community and we've been extremely pleased. I think they do a lot of activities over there, they try to keep the clients active and busy and stuff like that. She had to go to the doctor and the transportation services have been right there. The nurses are all terrific; at this point in time we are very pleased.
