Symphony at Mentor

My two sisters and I are really, really happy with Symphony at Mentor. Our mother was in other places and we weren't happy, but since she has been at this community, we've been extremely happy with the staff and the place. Management been very accommodating for everything and it hasn't been just one person. Whenever I speak to anyone from management, things are always taken care of. The dining is good and my mom is an eater, so she eats whatever is in front of her. The staff brings her in there to eat and she gets to seat where ever she wants, so things have been fine with dining. Regarding activities, I have noticed them making Thanksgiving cards, so I think they're well planned and entertaining for the residents. In terms of housekeeping, her room is kept clean and thy do the best they can with her laundry. Her door wasn't working once, but the maintenance guy came in and replaced it, so maintenance has been good. With my mother's care, the healthcare staff is the best they can. Overall, she is happy and she is smiling, so everything is all good at the community.

Mom has Alzheimer's so we were looking for somewhere that could take her. We had someone helping us and he recommended Symphony. The food is pretty good and the severs are friendly. Housekeeping seems okay and maintenance helped set up her bed when she moved in. The managers have been kind, concerned, and have been helpful so far. Everybody on the care staff has been nice, kind, helpful, and compassionate. Overall, so far, so good.

Wayne in management was really good, every time I had a concern, no matter what it was, I always went to Wayne and he always took care of it. He always reached back out to me to make sure things were taken care of, I can't say enough about Wayne and I thought the nurses that were there were excellent.

It's priceless knowing I don't have to worry that my mom's not being fed or cared for, she has a room all to herself and it's huge, it's great. Management is very friendly and helpful, I like Wayne, the Administrator, and he’s very helpful. The chef is great, she is very friendly and always asking what she can do, I think the food is great. They always have desserts, it's very good food, there's a very good selection; I'm very pleased with it. Even the people that work in the kitchen are very friendly, they're very helpful. The Activities Manager, Erica, is just wonderful. She has a couple of great workers on her team and asks for suggestions, they go on bus trips, there's just all kinds of parties and everything, there is always something going on, there are always activities or crafts. All the departments ask the residents what they want, I really like that they give everybody a chance to say what they would like to change or what they really enjoy. The rooms are always clean, my mom's room is spotless, everything is always straightened and tidy, the bathrooms are always clean, the whole building is really taken good care of. I'm very happy, the transition was very easy. I'm just happy with where she's at and I hope she can stay there for the remainder of her life.

My mom loves it there, I can tell, and that gives me peace. Management is really nice, if you have a question or problem, they're right on it. I think the dining is very nice and they have pretty well balanced meals, they seem to cater to everyone's needs. Her room is always clean, I think it's a nice, clean place. If I have a concern or question, no matter who I take it to, if it's the Head Nurse or Wayne, they do something. They get on it and get back to me, they're very good about that.

I think for the value, it's pretty good. The transportation services are excellent, we used their bus and that was excellent. Michelle is excellent and all the nurses are pretty good. The room is clean, the bed is made, the sheets are clean and the maintenance is good. Overall, they do a pretty decent job.

I had checked out quite a few other places and Symphony seemed more low-key than the other ones, the other ones were all fancy, it was more the atmosphere, my husband would not fit into a setting like that. I can't say enough good about the place, I'm so pleased that I chose there. We're very pleased; I think he's got the best room in the place. Anything I've ever needed or questioned, management is right there, they've been very helpful to me. The food is absolutely excellent and the dining staff has been wonderful. The healthcare staff is excellent; they're very, very nice. He's only been there a few weeks and they all know my name and greet me when I come in, it's nice.

A recommendation from someone who works in the field brought me to move my wife in. I know they're more economical than her the former place. I asked for a couple of things from maintenance, and I received them. It's great. The care staff has been super.

My husband's stay there was great, he loved it there, and I would definitely recommend Symphony. The services we received were worth the price we paid. The caregivers were always there to assist if there was any reason. If I told one he was wet, they were right on it to get him changed. Very nice and pleasant, all of them interact well with the residents. I like them, they're very nice people. The management's social skills and interactions are always great. They kept me informed on things. It was a good support system for someone dealing with Alzheimer's or dementia. Every meal I saw or attended with him was great. The building and grounds were maintained very nicely. We had to leave, but he loved the people there and all the workers loved him. All the staff was amazing so I was very said we had to leave, it's a very nice place.

I was really happy with management and the grounds were very nice, clean and well kept. The caregivers were very nice, respectful and helpful, my mom was very safe and secure during her time there.
