Management seems to be doing a good job. The healthcare staff seem to be doing a good job with all of the patients in there and accomodating with them. They're very patient with everyone. The food is fine. I don't know how they could do anything better or anything different than the way they already do it. From what my mom can do, the activities are fine. Everything seems fine in the building and everything seems to be in working order.
We chose Symphony at Oaklawn for my father because of the location; it's a five minute drive from my house. The caregivers are responsive, attentive, and always respectful. He does wander a little at night and they keep him safe and away from the stairwell as best they can. When we moved in, maintenance fixed some TV issues and got it working. The housekeeping and laundry has been excellent and I think he’s happy with the food and dining. So far the activities are planned well consistently and the management has been great. I haven’t had any issues at all. Everything was explained thoroughly and the care has been great. My father is happy which makes me happy.
I chose this community for my mom because of the location. Management has been really responsive and the food is much better in assisted living. It is pretty clean at this community and the caregivers seem to be very accessible.
If it wasn’t for my brother needing more skilled nursing care, he'd still be there. He was there almost three years, and the care, transportation service, and maintenance are all excellent. I've never seen anything out place in his apartment, housekeeping kept the place always immaculate. The dining room was clean and looked respectable. He mentioned no issues. I'd say it's excellent. The managers have certainly been great to me. We did not move out because we wanted to, we moved him out because we had to.
I don't know if they could be much better. The management staff is polite and sweet and gentle. If you need something they are right there. I am really happy that way. It is good food. The servers are always very pleasant. Housekeeping is excellent and I have two cats so it makes a difference. Everything is kept up and maintained. It is a pleasant place to live. The minute I push that button it doesn't take the care givers too long to get here. They are pleasant. They have a big job. The care givers do an excellent job. It's a great place to be.
Carolyn the Activities Director is great, she tries to think out of the box, there's a variety of activities for the residents and she tries to keep it exciting and something to look forward to. She tries really hard and does a good job. Faye the housekeeper is great and does a great job within my mother's room. Erin the day nurse and Rachel the night nurse, I just love those girls, I feel like they care for the residents, they're very caring, they're great and attentive. They are above and beyond.
I have been here for seven years and everything is good. The activities are great and the food is good. Maintenance is good and does everything that I ask them to do. If I have an appointment they will provide transportation.
Symphony was recommended by someone who helped us find placement after I had chosen another facility and she said we had to look at Symphony first. When I went in I just knew from the ambiance from the place, Kim Hyatt was very straightforward and gave a good tour. Nothing at Symphony makes you feel like you're in a nursing home, it's a very nice facility, even the Memory Care side, most places looked like old school nursing homes. Management has been very receptive, they've been great, and I really like all the healthcare staff I've met. In terms of activities, we did the stretching time and that was nice, she thought it was fun. My mom is pleased with both the Memory Care and personal care side food, the food is good. It's very expensive so it should be a top notch first class facility and that's what it is.
I think the Executive Director and the office manager was great. I think Kim, the marketing person, was the best one I have ever worked with. She is down to earth and friendly. She worked with me extremely well. I was very pleased with that. I think the dining was excellent. The staff was the tops. Activities have special events and they were superior. The parties we had were outstanding. I would go and get her out of memory care and we would go play bingo. They have a lot of things going on. The housekeeping was the tops. The linens were done very well. I was in assisted living and I thought my care was extraordinary and I think hers was very good as well.
