Symphony at Oaklawn

We had someone helping find a place for my husband and once we went in Symphony, we didn't have to go anywhere else. Management is the best, the person they have in charge is wonderful, she's such a sweetheart, and they take care of everything. My husband says the food is excellent and I have looked at the chart as to what activities they do and it looks good. We're very pleased with the housekeeping, they've done his laundry and that's been good too. They seem so caring and I don't feel like I have to go every day because I know he's being well taken care of, which means a whole lot to me and our family.

The 24 hour nurse on staff is why we chose Symphony, we feel very fortunate that mom is there, we're very pleased. The dining is excellent and they keep her involved in activities. Housekeeping is exceptional, there are no lingering smells, it smells clean every time.

I had a friend, a few years ago, who lived there for a couple of years. I thought it's so nice, it's a beautiful community and everyone is so nice. When mom got injured, Symphony at Oaklawn was the first place I thought of. I think the management does a good job. It always seems like the caregivers are very friendly and cheerful people and they're on top of changing her bandages. They have a lot of activities. Some of the residents don’t avail themselves of the activities but they should. They have bingo, different card games, and big holiday programs. They also have a painting class every couple of weeks. They have a great monthly calendar and every day there are little signs all over the community. They did a nice thing for Veteran's Day the other day. The dining staff will bring the food to mom's room if she doesn’t want to eat in the dining room. They are familiar with the residents and know what they like to order. They make it like dining in a nice restaurant. The building is very pretty. It looks more like a hotel, I think that's great. There were a couple of things that needed to be fixed when she moved in and maintenance did that right away. We had the transportation department take mom to the doctor a couple of times. That's worked out. It's pretty expensive, but they're doing everything they said they would do. I've been pretty happy with everything.

The main reason I chose this community was that my husband needs pureed food and Symphony offered that, some of the other places did not. I think that management is very accessible and they explain things very well. I think their activities are great and they have quite a few of them. Whenever any of my friends go over there with me, they always mention how nice and clean it looks. In terms of care, when he presses the button the healthcare staff come and help him with whatever they need to.

I think the various services have been very nice. The management is very nice and seems to be helpful. The food is fine. I think the variety is adequate and the service is pretty good. The activities I used to do I really liked. I am pleased with the services I get from housekeeping, maintenance and care as well. Everyone has been nice to me in the almost five years I've been here.

The person I have met in management is really great. The quality and variety of food they offer is really good. They are very engaging with the activities that are offered. The care staff takes good care of my mom. When she needs help going to the bathroom, for example, someone comes quickly. I am pleased with the services we receive from houskeeping and maintenance as well.

I think it is a pretty good value and I have generally been happy with the management staff. I think the activities are really good, my mom and dad like just about all the activities there and I’m glad they have transportation services available. The healthcare staff is very attentive and communicate well. They try to let me know what's going on so I haven't had any issues with the nursing staff at all.

The caregivers seem to be pretty up on taking care of mom and getting her meds to her on time. When I've been around for the different events they have, management seems nice, we've been over there several times for various events and the food has always been good. I've been pleased with the events we've been to. Housekeeping pretty good, and we're satisfied with the maintenance team. I know my mom is safe and comfortable at Symphony at Oaklawn.

I think management has always been very accommodating. My mom really loves the food. When I have been there for special functions, they have been tremendous. It is all really well done. The activities are very well done and it is very professional. Everything is perfect regarding housekeeping. My mom doesn't need a whole lot of extra help but it has been great and she likes the people.

It's been almost four years that I have lived here and I think the staff have been good. When management came in to get me to sign something I was able to talk to them about the service I get and they listened and responded. Lauren and another lady at this community did manicures and I went down for that. Housekeeping and the caregivers were good. Wendy, Casey, Dee and Emily are the very best aides here.
