Symphony at Richmond

My sister has been there for almost 20 years and she's very happy there. My sister loves everyone on the healthcare staff and they treat her really well. My sister also loves the activities, especially the outtings. Everyone knows my sister and treats her very well.

They really seem to be improving activities outside of the building. They take trips to restaurants and stores. It is so important they get out and mingle and get some fresh air. The care staff on the day shift have been excellent.

It is new management and it is better then what was there. In regards to the dining, I think they are doing fairly well. The service is good beause I know they help her to eat. I haven't had to contact maintenance for anything. I am pretty sure everything is working.

I'm pretty impressed with the housekeeping, overall I'm impressed, it's very clean and doesn't have a smell to it. My sister-in-law used to always play bingo, she loved that. All in all, it's reasonable and a safe community.

There are very good activities here. My wife really enjoys them; every morning she has exercise and likes that. It usually is clean and housekeeping is really active, they come around a lot and it looks nice there, it's a nice place. The value is very good for what they provide, it's excellent.

A social worker recommended the community, management has been very cooperative and my sister seems to be satisfied with the food. I think the housekeeping is very well done, everything looks clean and neat. My sister seems to be well-kept and looks good.

When I was introduced to Symphony I was pleased with the faciltiy and talking to the staff. They answered all my questions from the get-go. When she came home after her ten day stay she looked happy and at ease. I called Ms. Muhammad how pleased I was with the way my mother was when she came home. I told her about the comfort she looked with she came home. I do not have a problem with coming to them, I am very transparent and outspoken about any issues. When she was there they got snowed in and she tried to tell me what they did and she was telling me they were singing, holding hands and watching the snow. She had a good time. For the ten days she was there she did not require laundry but they sent her home with her clothes neatly with everything all neat with her personal belongings. It was fantastic. In terms of care, she did not say one negative thing. She will be back for another respite stay and I know she will be happy there. The care she got the first time, I am very comortable with her care this time.

I chose this community for my father for price wise, atmosphere and care that was included. As much as an 86 year old man can be, he's safe and comfrtable. It's been a huge relief for me. He was living so far and wasn't getting the care he needed. And now I know I can call them and he is getting the care, he is getting bathed and all. It is pretty fair compartively to other places I have looked. They brought in the respite care bed so he could use that for a night. We got him a TV with a mouse and the guy came in and in 15 minutes it was on the wall. Anytime we have asked for stuff it is done pretty darn quick. The building looks pretty good. They have kept it up pretty clean and nice. We had some a snowstorm come through, I think part of the tree in the front had fallen and I think they cleared it. For it being an Assisted Living, it smells pretty good and pleasant. It was really rainy the other day and they took the initiative to dry the carpets out. I think there are enough healthcare people and they are very attentive when I have asked them things. They made things happen and make sure they get back to me. They are super sweet people and they go above and beyond.

The managers are awesome people and anything I have asked of them they have taken care of. They are unbelievably awesome. She loves the food. She tells me that all the time. I think she enjoys the activities. She is doing activities and I love it. I am very pleased. If I have any problems I address them on the spot and normally they are taken care of.

Having been through 8 different communities with my in-laws, dad and my mother, it's hard to say there is value in any of them when you're spending that kind of money a month, but Symphony at Richmond was far more reasonable than some of the previous ones. The Memory Care unit my father was in was run quite well, so I was very happy with that. He had Dementia and all of his meals were pureed, but every time I had asked how the food was, he said it was good. As far as what the people in the Memory Care unit were able to do activity wise, I think the staff in the activity department did a nice job. The housekeeping staff did a good job with apartment cleaning, the laundry was good and maintenance took care of some of his furniture after he passed away with getting it out of there for us, so that we didn't have to deal with it, which was nice of them. With regards to his care, everyone in Memory Care was fabulous and loved my dad. Overall, the staff and aides in there were phenomenal and I can't stress that enough because they genuinely care about their residents.
