Symphony at Valley Farms

I chose this community because my mom just fell in love with Valley Farms. Connie is the Executive Director and took us on the tour of the place with my mom. She treated mom like she was her own mom. Connie has been wonderful to work with and any time anything is going on she told me to call her and I do. Connie sent me pictures of my mom having a good time so I know she's ok. Mom has had such a hard time adjusting and the care staff is right there checking on her. Regina, one of the aides that checks on my mom, she just loves her to death. I know now that she's getting what she needs and she says that the food is awesome. There was a regional nurse that came in and spent 2 hours with my mom and even hung more pictures on the walls to help make my mom feel better. They just go above and beyond to make the residents feel comfortable.

This community would be my 1st choice for the area if someone had a loved one with Alzheimer's and Dementia. As far as the care, they're respectful, knowledgeable and some really go above and beyond, which requires a special person because not everyone could do that job.

We've compared them to other places and they're just amazing. The activities director is amazing. They try to provide a diverse group of activities whether my mom participates in them or not. The activities are really good. My mom's caregivers are wonderful, they are the best. The staff is loving and caring and it's become a family to my mom. They contact us if anything happens and sometimes it seems like they're overly protective of my mom. Bob in maintenance has been great. When we ask for something they get to it pretty quickly. We wouldn't go any place else and think they all do a wonderful job.

For what my mom gets here, the price is good. The food has been pretty good and they have been good about taking the food to her room if she doesn't want to go to the dining room. The staff does really good about trying to keep her actively engaged and involved. They do a really good job with the activities and housekeeping usually does a good job cleaning her room. I have had conversations and interactions with about six of the aides and other staff members. Everybody has been very pleasant and caring with my mom. They have been very informative about issues and things we wouldn't otherwise know about. We had looked at five other places in the area and the community and the care here was the best.

The person that we dealt with the most was Connie and she was excellent. She was available and always called back if we had a question. They were great. They did have things at Christmas and Thanksgiving and I thought it was great.Whenever I sat in the dining room with her the servers were excellent. It was always clean. They did a great job on laundry too. Lisa was one of the drivers that helped with the activities. They were great. They had bingo and the music and the movies and the hair stylist. It was all great. They were excellent. Regina was one of the first ones that we met and she was our first impression. That was one of the reasons that we took her there. Kathy and Dee were excellent as well. They couldn't have done any better. She has a house and she was out growing the place. She was ready to go back home and her strength was better. She basically does her own thing. She missed her home and wanted to go home.We highly recommend it and we think everybody has been excellent and have gone above our expectations.

My wife and sister thought it was the nicest, cleanest place and what we were looking for. The healthcare staff has been very accommodating, friendly and answered all of our questions. My parents love the dining; my mom won't go out to eat unless she can eat there. My mom seems to enjoy the activities and uses the bus for trips out to lunch; it seems to be going good. The building is clean, they get my mom and dad what they need, it's always been clean when I'm there, and the healthcare staff is really attentive and compassionate.

Management was very very nice, they were always there when you had a question and willing to work with you. The food was really really good and the staff was really efficient. They always had activities going on and my mom enjoyed doing everything that they had. It was always clean when we were there and the maintenance staff bent over backwards for her. The healthcare staff was very very good to her, they seemed to go a little extra, they just brightened her day up.

She has been there two years and her room is great. In regards to the management, they always keep me in the loop. Anything that is going on they let me know. I know they genuinely care about my mom. The activities staff always have something going on. The apartment is always clean. The care givers take good care of my mom. Any issues they take care of it.

Mom’s been here for under a year. Before that, she was at a competitor's for five week and I caught her locked out several times. They left at 7:00p.m. and didn’t care about the residents. I am very happy with the security here. They have snacks there and on my way out I can snatch a cookie, I think that's really nice. My mother gained about 20 pounds since moving in, it's good, she's normally picky. The activities are fair and I've never seen her room messed up, we’re satisfied with Housekeeping. The care givers are taking care of her every single day and everybody in management is attentive and nice. It's the best place my mother's been in.

We are pretty satisfied with the value. The building is very nice and they hire good people.
