The Villas at Sunset Bay

After a year mom moved out, we needed a different level of care. My mom was happy with the food, very, very happy. She ate it all. I had food there, it was very good. The servers know everyone and what they like. There was always an activities calendar posted in her room. The calendar was always full, there was always something going on. Anything that needs attention, maintenance were very good on that. I wasn't there when mom left, her last day, but I can tell you the care staff that were there set my mom off because they were all crying. That made me feel good, it means a lot how much mom meant to them. Overall we're happy.

I have been married to my husband for a long time and you feel guilty when you put somebody some place like that, but I know he is being taken care of well at Villas of Sunset Bay because the environment is safe, bright, and cheery and feels like a hotel. The management is pretty much on top of things, they address my concerns and their marketing people are excellent. Everything is freshly cooked and the dining department doesn't use frozen vegetables. If there is something on the menu the residents don't like, they have other options, so they're very accommodating. The cleanliness of the place is great and so far, there hasn't been any repairs needed. I have only asked the maintenance department to hang a television on the wall and that was done promptly. With regards to his care, the medication is taken care of promptly and the staff is all loving, patient and hugs the residents. Everything is locked down and my husband can wander the halls without getting in trouble. There is nothing lying around and the cabinets are locked, so things like that are good. Overall, I have sent several people to tour the community and they were all very happy.

I definitely think it's a good price. The dining staff was very attentive to my mom and she really enjoyed the food. The woman in charge of activities, her personality is amazing, she's joyous to be around and the people love her, she's very interactive. Maintenance was very good whenever I had an issue, the people there are so kind.

My dad moved into this community because a friend of mine had her parents there. She told me about it and I really liked it when I checked it out. The people were very nice. Management is really helpful and makes sure you understand the services. They actually have a lot of good choices and good food. The servers are nice people. The activities director is super nice and outgoing and there is something going every day. This is the cleanest home that my dad has been in and the building is very nice. The caregivers are wonderful and they love my dad. They keep him clean and do a real good job.

It was the best place, the people seemed like they cared. The dining is very good, the activities staff is very helpful and the healthcare staff is very conscientious.

I drove eight or ten miles north and south from where I live and this was the best place I saw. The housekeeping is fairly clean when I go in there. The one girl that is there now has been there for over a year and they have set up a routine. Maintenance does a pretty good job of maintaining the community. The transportation is pretty good. You just have to have your appointments on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. Management is good about helping get appointments made with the doctors. My dad likes the live music they have come in for activities at different times.

We shopped around and I would say the rates here are very fair. Betsy, the Director, I just love her to death. She is not someone who just sits behind her desk. She is there during the day and at night. She has spent a lot of time with my mother and I have seen her interact with other residents. It is like they are her family. If I am taking her out for the day, the staff will talk to her and make a special interest in telling her to come back. I like that there are options to choose from on the dining menu if you don't like what they are having. I think the activities they offer are good. They are good about getting her to go down and try some of the activities. As far as housekeeping, her room is satisfactory. I am happy with it. They make sure her sheets are changed every week and her room looks fine. There is one aide there named Lupe and my mother absolutely loves her. Even if mom isn't on her floor that day she will go by and see her to say, 'Hi.' Overall, we are very happy with it.

The management team is very good. The food is great and the service is very good. I have no complaints about the laundry because my wife always has clean clothes.

My husband and I moved my mother-in-law into the Villas because of how friendly the staff was, as well as price. The caregivers are always so friendly and nice. They seem to be very kind, attentive, and caring to every resident; that is kind of why we picked that place. Nat, the maintenance dude, before move-in he was spot-on phenomenal. I had one meal there that was good, and I have seen some activities going on and they look pretty good. My mother-in-law is safe and comfortable, and her apartment is kept very, very clean by housekeeping. My husband and I are really satisfied with the value we're getting.

My mom was in rehab and the doctor next door mentioned the place to me so I went over there and really liked the place. The administrators are great there, everything I ask them, they help me with and they're very, very friendly, I love the way they treat the people there, they're just really great. The food is wonderful, of all the places around here, the food here is probably the best and other people that come to visit say that too, the food is excellent. They're just all really nice people. I know the Activities Director and I like her a lot, there's always something going on in the afternoon, they play bingo and cook. The maintenance has been great, it's really clean. The care is great, I love all the aides, a lot of them really love my mom and she likes them a lot, they're really good with her.
