The Villas at Sunset Bay

We chose Villas at Sunset Bay because it seemed more of an active community. A lot of the residents were up and about and engaged in the activities that were going on and they were all happy. The management has been very receptive to us and very down to earth explaining everything to us. They have been extremely helpful. The food is really good. The wait staff is all really sweet and wonderful. The activities are very doable and appropriate for the audience. The maintenance staff is very helpful. The healthcare staff is doing great. They are really working hard to keep her busy and active and engaged.

I got a recommendation from another community; that's why we moved my mom in. I was speaking to the Director there and it was too expensive and far from me, so she recommended the Villas. I think the management is really great, the managers are on top of everything, and they communicate with you. I think the food is good and the building is kept up well, and the housekeeping is pretty good. The Villas has good activities, the entire building is clean, and my mom is safe and comfortable in her room. Overall it's pretty good.

My mom just movd in and has had Alzheimer's and her caregiver fell ill. I had to find a place that was clean and safe, and I felt Villas at Sunset Bay was that. The caregivers have been able to do things for my mom that I've been unable to do in probably four or five years. I'm really impressed. Especially since she's happy. The management team is very personable, and understanding, and they seem to have recognized mom's strengths and weaknesses almost immediately, which was a comfort. The activities are excellent. I've been there when they're dong activities in the common areas or down on her floor and it seems like the people there are very involved with it. The Activities Director they have there is just a gem, she's great with people. I've watched my mom eat there, and she won’t stop eating. So I would say she's enjoying what they're serving her. Anytime I've gone there and told them I needed a new light bulb or something, Maintenance was there in seconds to help. Compared to other places I looked into, I think it's a good value.

I think the value is good. I'm amazing at their patience. The lady that takes care of my mom has gotten to know her pretty well. Maintenance was willing to way more than I needed them to do. From the few times I've been there I'd say the housekeeping is spot on.

When moving my husband in they explained everything. The price is right. It's great, everything's good. Its spacious enough and everything you would want. The staff have all been very pleasant and helpful. His room has always been clean and everyone has been helpful. As far as I'm concerned it's been perfect.

There is a new executive director Betsy. She has come in and made some improvements and I think she has done an excellent job in turning things around there. The housekeeping has improved from what it was before. I never say that I am coming and I have been there the past three days and it has been very clean. They hired some new staff there and the new people are professional. It is good to see my mom happy. She seems to be doing well .When I first came I spoke to Laurie Oken. I brought my mom there because of Laurie, she was so professional and on top of things and knows everything. I was really impressed. Betsy said that Laurie hired her and I can see where the influence came from. I think the trajectory is going in the right direction but I know you can't do everything in one day.

The people were nice and it was local to where my mom was. We looked at a few places, and this just had a nicer feel to it. Also, it's Memory Care only, not a mix of levels, and we liked that. It's also affordable. I have been very satisfied with management. They've been informative and have lots of good advice. They worked things out nicely for my mother. Any time we need anything we text or call management and they're available. The food is good. I had dinner there one evening. The food was nice, the servers were good, no complaints at this point. As far as I know, housekeeping and laundry is working well. So far, so good. It's still early in the game, but everything has been good.

The services are going great. It's a very nice facility, everybody's friendly. Everyone knows my husband's name and mine. The dining service is great. The management staff is always available to me and will talk with me. I've participated in some of the activities. Last week I donated two teapots and twelve cups and saucers for the tea party, and brought in cookies and cake. All in all, the price is great and so are the services.

I am absolutely getting a good value. Management is very communicative; they give me the right information. The administration has been great in every aspect from the beginning. My husband enjoys the food, and I've tried it, it's very good. He did his first activity this week, the caregivers came and got him, and he had a ball. The activities give him more freedom; in Memory Care they're great. Housekeeping and laundry is excellent. Outside and inside of the facility is great. His doctors come to see him there, which is great. I can see the staff has genuine concern for him, they treat him like he's family, he's up to date on medications. The doctors that come really keep up on what's best for him, and that shows with them and the staff. I've already recommended Villas at Sunset Bay to a couple of people. I am extremely pleased to have found a place that understands his disease. To me it feels like they have my husband in mind all the time. There are a few different languages spoken by the bilingual staff in Memory Care; that is awesome.

I moved my father in because of his Dementia and the rooms are a lot bigger and nicer than other facilities, my dad gets his own bathroom and lots of closet space, and it's pretty when you walk in, the dining area is really nice. It is competitively priced with other facilities, but it's nicer. The servers are really nice, the food is good, and if my dad doesn’t want what's being served they make him a hamburger or whatever he wants. The housekeeping and laundry is really good. His bed is always made, sheets are clean, laundry hung in the closet, and the apartment is tidy. They're awesome; dad really likes all the caregivers. The doctor is great, calls me with updates. So far it's all been really smooth sailing.
