Excellent dining!
I have eaten there many times with my brother and I think the food is excellent. He really likes going to the book readings they have as an activity. We are pleased with all the services he receives and the staff at the community.

I like the fact that management all calls the residents by their first names and they say hi to them when they are in the hallway. My mother likes the food and says it is very good. She orders half portions because she says they give her too much otherwise. The servers are very good and attentive. My mother gets involved in everything. She does the exercise classes, bingo and pretty much everything they offer. The housekeeping is excellent and the building is maintained very well. The interior and exterior of the building is always clean, picked up and pristine when I visit her. Fortunately she hasn't needed the caregivers because she is still very independent but she has buttons and cords she can use to contact people when she is in her room and the staff checks on her. My mother seems to be very happy here and she has nothing but praises for everyone who works here. My mother says that everyone here is so nice, laid back and easy going. The staff here is phenomenal.
I think the management was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. They guided us through the whole process and it ran very smoothly. One of the reasons that my mother was eager to go to Walden Place was because she was able to have all of those activities available to her. I think that the room is well kept and there is never any clutter. The staff is certainly helpful. All in all, I think it is money well spent.
He says the folks are really fun and he is enjoying it. It is an excellent value at this point because it fits into his budget. For our area and the accommodations it is a good value for him. Dad is very happy with the apartment. He has a studio and has it all set up and he is happy. So far our experiences with management have been positive. They seem to be caring and attentive. I have eaten there once or twice and it is tasty. My Dad has no complaints about it. He likes the portion size and having his larger meal at noon. There are alternate options if you don't like the main entrée. The servers are attentive and help the ones that need help. The maintenance guy was good when he moved in. He made sure and hung the pictures where he wanted them and hung a shade. He came and fixed a faucet. Dad says everything has been fine. The building is clean when you go inside. It is presentable and doesn't stink. They do a good job cleaning the apartment. Everybody that works there knows him already. I was afraid when we took him over there he was going to turn and run, but he asked if he could stay.
My grandmother is pretty pleased with the food and service she gets in the dining department. They do a great job with the activities. There are a couple of caregivers that are definitely dedicated to what they do and taking care of them. They really bond with them. It is a little pricey but for everything they have to do combined with everybody it isn't bad. She loves it at Walden Place.
I love David, in management. I think he has my Dad's best interest. He listens to my concerns. I think they do a lot in the dining department to accommodate my dad's desires of what he wants to eat. The activities department wants them to get outside and enjoy the sunshine. They want them interact with the community. It is nice, it really is. The maintenance is very good. Even something like putting bird seed in his feeder, when he asks for something it is done right away. The transportation service takes him to doctor visits and back. They are sensitive to his needs. The care staff is very good. If he says he isn't feeling well they make a doctor appointment and let us know so the family can meet him. It is very nice.
I chose this community because my mom has Alzheimer's so your memory care along with your enhanced lifestyle made me chose this place. Management has been very responsive and they give me a lot of feedback. They call me back when I have questions. The nursing staff that I've had interaction with has been really good. I haven't tried any of the food but it smells good when I'm there. It's very hard with Alzheimer's patients to get everyone involved and keep their attention, it's always a moving target but the activities director does really try to get everyone involved. The price is fair.
We chose to move my sister into Walden Place because we had another relative to live there for over 10 years so we knew the quality of place we were getting into. When you're willing to take another loved one back to a place that says a lot about how you feel about them. Every time I go over there she is doing some kind of activity. They go on rides through the countryside. I interrupted her the other day in her bingo game and she barked at me for that. She enjoys going in the dining room and help them set up for meals. She likes to walk and she will really enjoy walking the grounds once it warms up. I think the building is wonderful. It is older but when you step inside it doesn't look it. The care staff does a good job with putting up with cantankerous people and my sister can be that. In all the time I have been associated with them I have seen them bend over backwards to help the people. You can hear the normal level of cantankerous in her voice rather than the agitated level she was at and I think that speaks volumes to how she has been treated since she has been there.
We're very happy there. The nurses very good about notifying me if anything is wrong with my mom. They're very attentive to my mom and I think their care is wonderful there. The dining room is beautiful and compared to other places I've seen, Walden Place is immaculate; it's beautiful there. It's clean and everyone is friendly and the food and service are excellent. The activities are excellent. I'm very satisfied with the service and any time I've encountered anyone they've been very helpful and they give us the low down on how my mom is doing. I give very high regards to the facility and the staff.
I chose it after lots of research, I liked the facility, the things that they offered. They just had the Snowflake Dance and my nieces just raved about how beautiful that was and I think that the staff has all been fabulous.
